Since this scenario is so likely, the federal government should begin dispersal now. Send most or at least some of the legislators home, and let them meet and vote via phones and the Internet.

I'd suggest an alternate scenario: make all the legislators stay within 1000 feet of each other at all times - no exceptions. ;)

Recruiting new legislators after every blast might become a bit problematic. Still, I suppose we should consider your suggestion if only for its entertainment value.

I'm actually serious about moving the legislators and the president out of D.C. We are going to have to do it eventually, might as well get started.
