I am not so sure what this study proves...other than if you want to know what's going on...attach some sort of monitoring device to your female partners brain...

It's what I am inferring based on the thesis of this ARTICLE.

They had to use some sort of scientific method when coming up with their conclusions...so, I assumed some device has to be in operation.
