Yes, I remember that (I could be wrong, but I think she's used that at least once) - I think it would not only remind males of some nagging ex, but also us female types of an out of control ex-boss we may have had (shudder). I also remember the speech she gave (in San Fran I believe) in which she thought we should all pay/give more. I hope if she runs the Pubbies use that in some commercials.

ABC's modest Live 8 special rocked by AOL

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - ABC's two-hour highlights special from the Live 8 concerts drew just 2.9 million viewers Saturday, according to preliminary estimates from Nielsen Media Research, far fewer than the 5 million users who logged on for AOL's free live video streaming coverage.

The London and Philadelphia concerts also were carried earlier in the day on MTV and VH1, but the cable networks said ratings for the VJ-heavy broadcasts would not be available until Wednesday.

ABC's 8-10 p.m. special featured such heavy hitters as Paul McCartney, U2, the Who, Pink Floyd, Tim McGraw, Green Day, and Coldplay. But some of the performances were truncated, and naughty words were bleeped.

AOL's coverage exceeded expectations and brought in about 5 million users from roughly 11 a.m.-7 p.m. EDT. At its peak, AOL delivered 175,000 concurrent video streams of the concerts, according to an AOL spokeswoman.

Worldwide, the broadcasts of the 10 concerts garnered a combined television audience of some 3 billion viewers, organizer Bob Geldof said Monday.

In the U.K., home to the flagship concert at Hyde Park, the BBC reported that an average 4.2 million viewers, or one-third of the available audience, watched its BBC2 telecast from 1 p.m.-6 p.m. In the evening, coverage switched to flagship BBC1, where from 6 p.m. to midnight the average audience was 7.8 million, or 42 percent of the available audience. Its peak audience was 9.6 million.

French commercial channel M6 transmitted more than 10 hours of live footage Saturday. A retransmission of the Paris concert attracted an audience that peaked with 1.9 million viewers from 8 to 8:45 p.m. M6 said the figures meant nearly 25% of its audience, drawn primarily from the 15-34 demographic, tuned in to watch the concerts.

Italian TV broadcasts attracted more than 2 million viewers for the Saturday night concert, which was carried live on state-run broadcaster RAI 3 as well as on satellite provider Sky Italia.

In Germany, all major TV and radio stations reported on the concert and its debt-relief message, but the event itself ran on niche news channel Phoenix, with regional public broadcasters carrying windows of live coverage in between their regular scheduled programing.

Canada's 18-hour contribution to Live 8, organized by veteran concert promoter Michael Cohl, drew 10.5 million viewers, or one in three Canadians, host broadcaster CTV Inc. said Monday.

CTV viewership for the Barrie, Ontario, concert peaked Sunday night when 2.1 million Canadians watched Neil Young close out the event with a stirring rendition of "Rockin' in the Free World." The Canadian broadcast included a final five-hour Live 8 "Greatest Hits" highlight program that drew an average of 1.4 million viewers per minute.

Live 8 organizers said Monday that more than 26 million people around the globe sent mobile phone text messages lending their names to the campaign to encourage world leaders at this week's G8 conference in Edinburgh, Scotland, to tackle hunger and poverty in Africa.

The core of the comet has material undisturbed since its creation billions of years ago-- presumably. By examining the crater and ejecta, I'm guessing they can make an educated guess about what it's composed and perhaps how it was formed and, remotely, a stab at its age.

Right; I'm with ya. I read up on it and they didn't just smack the comet for the pure hell of it. They had cameras and gizmos to measure the content of the cloud, all kindsa' stuff.

I'm listening to the second half of the show right now :) First chance I've had to sit down and listen.

People always complain there's not enough politics on Drudge. I for one am glad to have an AM radio show that isn't 100% screaming politics. Oh well, have a nice week.

Do de children have de books yet? Arnold's 'moving on' without first fulfilling his education promise! :P

And this today:

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - California leads the United States in solar power generation but a bill sponsored by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger that would sharply expand sun power use is drawing fire as too costly for utility customers and manufacturers.

The bill aims to put photovoltaic solar panels on the roofs of one million new homes and businesses within 10 years, increasing solar generation from a current 100 megawatts to more than 3,000 megawatts, equivalent to 30 new "peaking" plants to deliver electricity during high-demand periods.

Might I suggest Jessica Simpson's sister? I heard something that her singing is so awfully destructive, she's damaging her vocal cords.

Her singing is so awful it damages my vocal cords.

Yeah, that's him. Drudge pointed out that Annie Lennox was singing "Sweet Dreams are Made of This" in the Reagan era.

It's interesting to me that he wrong the piece for a UK paper rather than one here in California. I'm not sure what the thinking is here. Perhaps it's to poke the Kyoto signatories who aren't even meeting their promises all the while they complain about the U.S. Drudge seems to think the wife probably put him up to it.

Teddy Kennedy's niece would do that!?

I remember when "Brothers in Arms" came out. It was quite a piece of digital engineering for its time. The first ever album in which the notation "DDD" appeared..

Do you recall the speech or rant in which she began ' I am sick and tired ...blah, blah blah ' complete with fist pounding

HAHA! Found this on NewsMax. It's an oldie but a goodie.

Conservatives React to Hillary Shriekfest

The mainstream press is pretending not to notice Hillary Clinton's shrieking tirade against President Bush in Connecticut Monday night, where she bellowed that she was "sick and tired" of Bush supporters questioning the patriotism of Democrats who criticized the commander in chief while troops were in harm's way.

But conservative commentators had a field day with the former first lady's rhetorical meltdown, with most suggesting that it revealed "the real Hillary."

Talk radio host Michael Reagan posited that for those who know Hillary best, her Monday night tantrum was nothing new.

"I think what we heard last night at that speech was probably what the ushers in the White House were hearing for eight years when Hillary would talk to Bill Clinton," he told Fox News Channel's "Hannity & Colmes."

Former White House insider Dick Morris, who saw the undiluted Hillary up close and personal for two decades, echoed that sentiment, telling the Fox News duo, "She sounds like she's talking to Bill."

Morris said that even Hillary's senior staff feared her temper and sometimes drew straws to see which unfortunate member of the group would have to deliver bad news to the Screamer-in-Chief.

"We would all sit around and we would debate who would go in and put the bell on the cat's tail and give Hillary advice," recalled the top Clinton adviser. "The only person that could do it was [Hillary's chief of staff] Maggie Williams and that was the purpose she served on the staff."

Morris said the African-American Williams "was the only one who could give Hillary advice without getting scalped for it." Williams was so trusted that Hillary now has her keeping an eye on hubby Bill as chief of staff of his Harlem office.

Still, other conservatives reacted to Sen. Clinton's rant on personal terms, going so far as to say it explained why Bill Clinton is, as they say in the South, "a hard dog to keep on the porch."

Quipped KABC-LA radio host Al Rantel Tuesday night after playing the Hillary audio for his audience, "Imagine waking up next to that every morning."

I was here, but my kids and their cousins (and their grandparents) made it impossible to listen. :) Safe & sane fireworks in the driveway & all that. I hit "record" around 8:30 PDT and I'm sitting here listening now to the show.

Drudge reminding us that they used to leave SCOTUS seats open for years. There was no urgency.

Pointing out that the GOP didn't play the game right with these activist liberal judges..didn't play "that geek Breyer" well in the press. If GWB put Ruth Ginsberg's name into play tomorrow, the socialist left would oppose it. They just hate for hating's sake.
