ARTICLE SNIPPET:
"Yesterday, Saad al-Fagih, a Saudi exile who has been implicated in the 1998 East African embassy bombings, denied a report that he ran the Al-Qalah website.
It has nothing to do with me, he said from his home in Willesden, northwest London. I condemn these attacks.
Al-Fagih, however, said he was in no doubt that Al-Qaeda was behind the bombings and claimed the perpetrators were either indigenous Muslims or foreigners who had been settled in Britain for some time.
Thanks to the American invasion of Iraq, Al-Qaeda has no shortage of manpower, he said. My sources tell me that 3,000 Saudis have joined the jihad in Iraq and are prepared to become suicide bombers anywhere in the world.
Al-Fagih, who runs an organisation called the Movement for Islamic Reform in Arabia, has been accused by American prosecutors of providing Osama Bin Laden with a satellite phone to help co-ordinate the 1998 attacks on Kenya and Tanzania."

"The suicide bomb squad from Leeds"
By Michael Evans, Daniel McGrory and Stewart Tendler
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "A relative of one of the bombers was arrested and taken to London for questioning. Intelligence agencies say that at least two of the men had recently returned from Pakistan. All four were British, but with origins in Pakistan. MI6, MI5 and British diplomats were in touch with the Pakistani authorities last night to try to track down any connections with terrorists there. Security sources confirmed that none of the bombers was on any MI5 file, although one had links to a person investigated by police.
The four were captured on CCTV cameras at Kings Cross Thameslink station, laughing together and carrying rucksacks, minutes before they set off for their targets at 8.30am on July 7."

Terror risk map puts London on a par with Kabul Christine Seib/ The Times (UK) Online/ posted 4/18/2005
BRITAIN is near the top of world terrorism risk ratings for a second year amid fears that Islamic extremists will try to disrupt the general election with an attack on a big city.
Britain has an "elevated" risk of being hit by terrorists, while London is at "high" risk, together with Baghdad, Kabul and Jerusalem, according to a terrorism risk map published today by Aon, the worlds second-largest insurance broker.

"3 bombers were of Pakistani origin: London police"
H S Rao in London | July 13, 2005 09:31 IST
Last Updated: July 13, 2005 10:02 IST
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Police on Wednesday said at least three of the bombers involved in bombing the London transport system are believed to be British males of Pakistani origin who lived in West Yorkshire in Leeds.
The bus bomber is believed to be dead, and police said there was "strong forensic and other evidence" a second bomber died at Aldgate. Investigators are now trying to establish if the other two are alive or died in the explosions.
A relative of one of the suspects was arrested in West Yorkshire on Tuesday and was being brought to London to be quizzed by the anti-terrorist branch.
Six search warrants were served on Tuesday under the Terrorism Act on houses in and around Leeds."
ARTICLE SNIPPET #2: "Sir Iqbal Sacranie of the Muslim Council of Britain said they have received the latest news from the police with "anguish, shock and horror."
He said, "It appears our youth have been involved in last week's horrific bombings against innocent people.
"While the police investigation continues we reiterate our absolute commitment and resolve to helping the police bring to justice all involved in this crime of mass murder. Nothing in Islam can ever justify the evil actions of the bombers.""

"Sir Ibrahim Hooper and Lord Salam Al-Marayati? Thoughts on the Muslim Council of Britain"
June 12, 2005
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Sir Ibrahim Hooper and Lord Salam Al-Marayati? Thoughts on the Muslim Council of Britain Well, they live in the wrong country to receive such accolades, and much they must rue it, for their British counterpart, Iqbal Sacranie, was knighted today, in the Queen's Birthday Honours. As secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain (on which, see Chris Blackburn's analysis, "The Dark Side of the Muslim Council of Britain"), Sacranie has been one of the most important advocates of radical Islam in the United Kingdom so what could be more appropriate than to reward him with a hoary English title?"
