"We know about this relationship not from Bush administration assertions but from internal Iraqi Intelligence Service (IIS) documents recovered in Iraq after the war--documents that have been authenticated by a U.S. intelligence community long hostile to the very idea that any such relationship exists."

This oft-repeated fact is troubling. Why did our intelligence have this attitude? There have been some leftist elements in US intelligence. I have high hopes that a cleanup is occuring in the CIA under Goss. I hope he gets enough support from Bush to follow through in the face of the opposition he is sure to receive from our Leftist press and the Democrats.

There have been some leftist elements in US intelligence.

Both branches of "the State Department" have been personal fiefdoms for radical leftists for quite some time now. Do you really believe that the "inability" of the CIA to accurately foresee the imminent collapse of the Soviet Union was due to incompetence? Nope, it was due to the willfull blindness of the radical left "careerists" at Langley, who were very pro-Soviet, and pro-Arab, and still are today...

The people Porter Goss has to contend with, aren't "Clintonistas" in the most accurate sense, as they are not, nor never were, political appointees of the previous administration, but were career employees, who were indoctrinated in universities across this country to adhere to those who would destroy the very country these people would "serve"...
