SANTA FE (AP) - Gov. Bill Richardson could continue to play a prominent role in the lawsuit filed by Wen Ho Lee against the federal government.

Lee claims government officials leaked classified and personal information about him to the media. Richardson was secretary of the Department of Energy at the time.

The Albuquerque Journal reports that Richardson and several others were again identified in a recent federal court ruling as likely sources for the leaks in 1999 that identified Lee as a suspect in an FBI investigation into loss of nuclear secrets to China.

Lee was charged with mishandling classified information but was exonerated on all but one count.

Richardson has denied in sworn testimony that he was the source for the media reports about Lee.

A spokesman for Richardson said he does not comment on pending litigation.

.

Again,

...after his having represented the Los Alamos NM area for 11 years in the U.S. Congress, did Energy Secretary BILL RICHARDSON authorize fires to be set near the Los Alamos Nuclear Labratories...

...during that area's annual WINDY SEASON..? Fires that quickly went out of control and desttroyed part of the Los Alamo Nuclear Labratories..?

...Especially when it was our own miniature suitcase NUKE technology that turned up missing after that Lab's evacuation..?

Lee was charged with mishandling classified information but was exonerated on all but one count.

Lee pleaded guilty in September 2000 to a single felony charge of downloading nuclear weapons data to portable tapes and was freed after about nine months in confinement.

As I recall part of the deal was that he'd help locate the tapes. "He agreed to make himself available to FBI questioning for a year so the government could find out exactly what happened to the missing tapes." The one-year period has ended. Nothing happened as far as I have been able to find out.

Lee even admitted that he made up to seven copies of the seven tapes. At first he said he destroyed them all. Kinda like John Kerry, "I made the copies before I destroyed the copies."

He's an innocent victim?
