The racial composition of the power structure and the police force does not matter to the agitators. Law enforcement officers are being shot and killed every week in southern California and most often the perps are Hispanic. Often, the downed officer is Hispanic as well.
Not completely true or historically accurate. In the '65 Watts riots they went after Jewish and white owned business, burning many to the ground, and complaining they were not represented by the white mayor and mostly all white police force, which they claimed police brutality due to racism.
The uniform is what they hate, as well as the law and any authority figure.
Again, historically not accurate. In the '92 riots they complained of white police brutality against Rodney King and the mostly white jury verdict in that case, that found the police officers innocent. Due to these racial accusations, What followed were the nations biggest, most deadly riots.
Did you notice many black rioters attempted to go into Korea town in 92, and some of the organized gangs attempted to go into the westside looking for trouble. In Korea town they were repelled in a big way by the Korean citizens. That was purely racial motivation on their part.
They latest is they are now calling for the white police Chief, William J. Bratton to be fired, among other things. And calls of an LAPD that attacks minoritys are clear.
You are correct in a sense, they are looking for an excuse for civil unrest, but all I am saying, is that as time goes on, they'll have to look for something beyond racism allegations to pin the blame.
Don't know where you live, but locally we are being informed that law enforcement is on tactical alert. If you read all the posts here, you will learn what the locals know.

That's unadulterated BS!
first of all the burned and looted buildings were a result of a mafia type retaliation for not paying them off. we did the reconstruction of several buildings after the Watts Riots and the burned ones were pre marked to be hit and in a lot of cases when they were broken into they emptied all the filing cabinets a burned the records along with the building. On one building, owned by a Jewish gentelman, he was screaming "I paid, I paid, I wasn't supposed to be burned. the looting by locals was an aftermath of the window smashing and burning by the mafia types.
As far as the deaths, the reported number was a total farce. One of my black employees that lived in the area said that there were well over a thousand in the morturaries in his neighborhod. I personally saw dump trucks being loaded with debris cleaning up burned out buildings with arms and legs hanging out of the loaders and they went to the dump.
The L.A.P.D. wasn't allowed to act like they were military but the Sheriffs dept. sure did picking off snipers with automatic rifles.
