Matthew Cooper, a reporter for Time magazine, said the White House senior adviser Karl Rove was the first person to tell him that the wife of former Ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV was a C.I.A. officer, according to a first-person account in this week's issue of the magazine.
Matthew Cooper, a reporter for Time, talked about his grand jury testimony Sunday on "Meet the Press."
The account also stated that Mr. Rove said Mr. Wilson's wife had played a role in sending Mr. Wilson to Africa to investigate possible uranium sales to Iraq.
The article, a description of Mr. Cooper's testimony last Wednesday to a federal grand jury trying to determine whether White House officials illegally disclosed the identity of a covert intelligence officer, offered the most detailed account yet of how a White House official purportedly did not merely confirm what a journalist knew but supplied that information.

The NYT thinks we're stupid.
I'm not joining their s****ty site to read their garbarge, but I'm assuming that once again they didn't mention their own reporter's involvement in this nonsense.
LIAR!
His posture is not one that would give me cause to believe what he's saying one bit...
Transcript of Cooper/Russert Interview
snip
"So did [Karl] Rove leak Plame's name to me, or tell me she was covert? No. Was it through my conversation with Rove that I learned for the first time that [Joe] Wilson's wife worked at the CIA and may have been responsible for sending him to Niger? Yes. Did Rove say that she worked at the 'agency' on 'WMD'. Yes. When he said things would be declassified soon, was that itself impermissible? I don't know."
For the record, the first time you learned that Joe Wilson's wife worked for the CIA was from Karl Rove?
MR. COOPER: That's correct.
MR. RUSSERT: And when Karl concluded his conversation with you, you write he said, "I've already said too much." What did that mean?
MR. COOPER: Well, I'm not sure what it meant, Tim. At first, you know, I thought maybe he meant "I've been indiscreet." But then, as I thought about it, I thought it might be just more benign, like "I've said too much; I've got to get to a meeting." I don't know exactly what he meant, but I do know that memory of that line has stayed in my head for two years.

you mean,
LIAR, CREEPY LIAR!!!! (that pitiable hound dog look is just too much...way over the top!! Like that drama queen, sympathy inducing speech about 'saying goodbye to his son'. ) Give me a break!!!
Ambassador Joe Wilson (R), husband of CIA agent Valerie Plame whose identity was leaked to reporters two years ago in a newspaper column, walks from a news conference alongside Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) on Capitol Hill in Washington DC July 14, 2005.
In this photograph provided by 'Face The Nation', former Amb. Joe Wilson gathers his paperwork after talking about the grand jury investigation into the leak of the identity of his wife, undercover CIA operative Valerie Plame, during the taping of 'Face the Nation' Sunday, July 17, 2005 at the CBS studios in Washington.
First, but in the interview Cooper refuses to talk about his other sources for the article.
It looks to me like he changes his story on a daily basis depending on whether or not he currently most fears perjuring himself before a Grand Jury or the being disciplined by his Liberal Democrat masters.
The guy flip flops faster than Kerry.
Ummm .. Rove didn't say she was a C.I.A. officer
But hey .. nice try
BTW .. Cooper also stated that he rec'd a call from his source the morning he was to appear before the Court
Seems he changed his story there too
He's consistent. He's always said Rove never actually told him Plame's name and therein lies the crux of the matter because Rove did not actually name her thereby "blowing" her "cover".
Why hasn't Fox news weighed in and ripped this whole Wilson / Cooper / Miller house of deceitful cards to pieces like it deserves? I looks like it sould be soooo easy.
Bingo. Voices trying to get the truth out are lost in the uproar.
The only voice that matters though is that of the special prosecutor. I'll wait to see what he has to say. I'm thinking Wilson himself is the target of this investigation.
He's married to Mandy Grunwald (major dawg barf), Hillary's bag woman. Nuff said!
Mandy--where is ol Mandy these days. It is always a good idea to keep track of those doing the Clinton's most sleezy bidding.
Speaking of that, where is the scooting Bruce Lindsey as well. You never saw that guy except for his dashing between airplances or limos to building cover. But he the was King of Trashed Lives and in the middle of everything that trashed other peoples lives to the benefit of the Clinton's. Like to keep track of Bruce too.
Mr. Rove has already reported that he learned about her being with the CIA from other than classified sources, and that she hadn't been in the field in over five years, both are requirements of the statute to have been violated.
So there was no violation of the law based on these two facts.
The NYT still hopes to relive their glory days of H2o gate.
