Terror group threatens war across Europe (Pull troops in next month or bloody war is in store)

CAIRO, Egypt (AP) - A statement in the name of a group that claimed responsibility for the London bombings threatened Tuesday to launch "a bloody war" on the capitals of European countries that do not remove their troops from Iraq within a month.

"This is the last message we send to the European countries. We are giving you one month for your soldiers to leave the Land of the Two Rivers. Then there will be no other messages, but actions, and the words will be engraved in the heart of Europe," Abu Hafs al Masri Brigades said in a statement.

The "two rivers" in the statement refer to Iraq's Euphrates and Tigris rivers.

The authenticity of the statement - which surfaced on an Islamic Web site known as a clearing house for extremist groups' material - could not be verified.

The group has no proven track record of attacks, and experts are skeptical of its statements. The organization has claimed responsibility for events in which it clearly did not play any role, such as the 2003 blackouts in the United States and London that resulted from technical problems.

It is not the first time this group has threatened European nations. In recent months it said its operatives would strike in Europe if European nations did not withdraw their troops from Afghanistan and Iraq.

"It is time for you to understand that the Mujahedeen (holy warriors) will not leave their nation suffering under the stigma of humiliation and the killings by American fire which you allied with," the statement said.

It vowed to launch "a bloody war, God willing," against Denmark, Holland, Britain, Italy and other countries "whose soldiers are roving and having fun in Iraq."

Abu Hafs al-Masri group is named for the alias of Mohammed Atef, Osama bin Laden's top deputy who was killed in a U.S. airstrike in Afghanistan in November 2001.

It was one of at least two groups to have claimed responsibility for the July 7 bombings that killed 56 people on London's Underground and a double-decker bus.

"We promise you that these will be the last words," the statement said. "After that, our Mujahedeen will say something else in your capitals."

Spoken like the true child molesting, woman beating, back stabbing little cowards that they are.

They can't fight Men one on one, they have to attack the weak and the innocent.

France is actually in the forefront of the WOT! No joke.

But my reply to the terrorists would be this:

"From the land of the Atomic Bomb, one attack and we NUKE Mecca!"

"Peace to you from the land of Hell's Fire."

Looks like Al Queda is capitalizing on the liberal talking points that the London bombings were cause by Blair's involvement in Iraq. Amazing how that works.

Yep...if this happens I think that European Muslims are going to find that the ugliness and viciousness that they always want to accuse Americans of will actually flourish among the native populations of Europe.

For all their "sophisticated" ways, the truth is that Europe has certainly hosted it's share of genocides in the 20th century. A "war" in Europe won't go well for the average Muslim on the street (well except in France of course).

I think Bush needs to nominate Tancredo as head of the European Theater, Global War on Terror.

Scaring cowards is the last thing these nitwits want to do.

Euros like to complain about the fascist US tactics, but scare them enough and they will end up deporting their native born Arabs wholesale... If not outright killing them in big bloody masses.

There is nothing more dangerous than a coward with momentary power, and that is exactly what Europe is today.

LOL

It's also an excellent opportunity for "Internet Warriors" to earn their stripes by spending the next few months in Europe riding trains and buses.

btw, 'Internet warrior' is how some here insult those who say or actually have served in the military and post that aggressive actions may need to be considered or used in a pre-emptive or reactive mode as needed..

It's also a term used to generally insult anyone they disagree with after making comments that speak to hitting terorists and their supporters hard instead of waiting to get hit first.

Hmm, You really shouldn't anger the Germans, Russians, etc. Europe has a long and storied history of doing rather nasty things when backed into a corner.

I must say, I do think of Spain's actions when I read this. (Spanishguy, if you're out there I know you have another point of view.) But I am concerned that the 3/11 incident gave the impression this tactic works. It will not.
