Gun laws to be tightened (Holland)

THE HAGUE – Rules for gun ownership will become stricter in August 2006, the Ministry of Justice announced on Wednesday.

Beginning next autumn, anyone who wants a weapons permit will have to be a member of a shooting club affiliated with the Koninklijke Nederlandse Schutters Associatie (KNSA).

To prevent criminals from learning to shoot in a club, aspiring members must also be licensed by the KNSA.

Weapons permits will also become easier to revoke. From next year, committing a crime will be grounds for losing one’s licence, as will ‘moving in criminal circles’.

The KNSA will conduct checks of affiliated clubs and issue licences to individual members.

Prospective members will have to submit a certificate of good behaviour, to prevent people with a criminal record from joining.

Those wishing to own a gun will be required to have a special safe. Collectors will have to submit a collection plan and will be assigned a mentor in the first year.

Oh, that will surely work. Criminals always buy their guns through legal channels.

Coming to a state near you. This is considered a good first step on the Brady, Schumer, Clinton, Kennedy, Feinstein, etc. plan for you gun ownership privileges (note I didn't say rights)

"To prevent criminals from learning to shoot in a club"

That's what the vacations to Pakistan are for. I thought the Dutch were beginning to wise up, but it looks like they've got their heads firmly planted back in the sand.

I'm sure that the threat of losing their license is the primary concern of these criminals: "Ehh, the 10-year prison sentence is nothing, but God firbid I lose my firearms license".

As if the criminals had licenses to begin with.

Idiots.

Well then I will just have to poison my victims or beat them to death with a wooden chair when I am in Holland. </sarcasm>

Terrorist get their guns from the containers they bring in from their sponsor nations or their confederates...

The nations wont close their borders to terrorist illegal 'dhimmigrunts'

Ordinary tax paying honest citizens who will need guns to resist the terrorists...won't be allowed to have them and if they do...their new world odor governments will make sure they don't keep them...(or worse)

Makes one wonder why their government seems to be in colusion with the terrorists

imo

Overrun by jihadists and unarmed.
Poor Holland.

Amen to that.

Remember, Theo van Gogh's murder started all this.
He was killed by a KNIFE, stabbed 15 times.

They have euthenasia, abortion on demand, homosexual marriage, open homosexuality in their military, prostitutes in windows (Now there are male prostitutes, homosexual prostitues of both types and even transgenders -- that is, guys with breasts and, er, "willies." ) and cafes's where you can buy and smoke marijuana. Oh, I forgot to mention, open immigration of all those Indonesian Muslims.

They also have mass emmigration (relative to their numbers). Forty thousand white Dutch have already left the land of their father's birth - to Canada, New Zealand and Australia -- in the last five years.
Did I mention the HUGE burden of taxation?

Poor Holland. I was just there and loved it. Beautiful country and very nice people. They weren't very happy with the state of their country and the direction it's in.
The buck stops with the voters.....we all know that.

Poor Holland.

This is what happens when a country starts down the road of state control over personal decisions. More control is the only response to any situation or event that the bureaucrats can contemplate. Even when it becomes comical, such as proposing more laws to stop lawbreakers, the state and it's minions have no other response in their philosophy. If the Islamists opened up death camps for infidels bureaucrats and leftists would propose hygiene laws for death camps.

Lol. Good one.

They could use what the Democrats (That would be John "Effing" Kerry and Ted "Hic!" Kennedy.) want the U.S. military to use -- SPITBALLS. (Zell Miller, retired U.S. DEMOCRAT Senator)

Europe Surrenders

Holland recently announced it is getting out of the Maritime Patrol Aircraft business to spend more money on social programs. Meanwhile, across the English Channel, London announced significant military cuts. The London Telegraph reports that a confidential MOD White Paper announced substantial cuts in British ships, armored vehicles, and aircraft. The British MOD said the changes were being made to “better prepare Britain for combating terrorism and weapons of mass destruction.” While supporters are reported to say these changes will permit the use of a more swiftly deployable force to fight on a number of fronts at the same time while enjoying the latest technology, opponents countered that the move is budget crisis-driven "a smokescreen" to hide quite risky cuts in the military. Two major defense programs -- the Nimrod MRA4 surveillance aircraft and the Ground-based Air Defence radar system (GBAD) -- are being cut immediately, reported the Telegram. The Nimrod upgrade program alone has already cost $ 764 million toward the $ 5 billion program. Canceling the MRA4 now is expected to save $ 892 million this year and $ 3.57 billion overall, leaving England with neither a modern Royal Navy MPA aircraft nor an RAF strategic bomber. The white paper also lists other savings: buying just 55 of the 143 Eurofighters with which it will replace its F3 Tornado, Harrier, and Jaguar ground attack aircraft; scrapping England’s 60 Challenger 2 tanks, plus unnamed older tank models; and decommissioning older Royal Navy ships, not yet named.
