Pataki's Preposterous Plan (inept, corrupt Gov's pres plans deemed a laugh riot)

The dash between 1995 and 2007 will go down in history as perhaps the most meaningless 12-year period in NY State political history ....... I recall the hope and promise in the early days of George Pataki's reign - and ultimately the resulting disappointment of ineffectual and deceitful goverance that followed. For the governor to hint at a possible run for the presidency is truly laughable. As the rest of the nation has swung to the right, Pataki has veered further and further to the left. Good riddance to another Republican In Name Only. Chris Farley Clifton Park ...

Pataki's negatives list is a mile long.

Now, let's recount the reasons why Pataki's candidacy is a loser:

Back in 2/17 the headline read "Political Donations Pour Through Gap in New York Laws" (party paid for Pataki personal maid). The increasing use of party housekeeping committees was highlighted this year by the disclosure that the state Republican Party's housekeeping committee pays the salary of a full-time assistant for the state's first lady, Libby Pataki.

Snort----Republican donors never figured their bucks would subsidize a maid for the gov's wife.

Then news reports said Pataki's wife begged politcoes to buy her new kid's book claiming "The Pataki's need the money" even though it's been reported elsewhere that Mrs. Pataki was paid more than $339,000 in 2003.....for her work "as a vaguely defined consultant to businesses and charities." Most of her "clients" are linked to friends and political supporters of Gov Pataki, and some of those friends also have interests before the state.

The Village Voice and The New York Times have reported extensively on the Patakis’ main source of wealth, the good will of an old college friend, Richard Hayden. Hayden arranged an ---ahem---consulting job for Mrs. Pataki with a family medical-devices business and has involved her as a partner in lucrative land deals. As if the word does not get around that the governor's wife is involved in land deals.....All those hard-to-get EPA and county and municipal planning board approvals better come through....or else.

Guess that's how the Patakis managed to build a huge house in Garrison when he was a lowly local legislator making a nothing salary.

Oh, not to forget----both the Patakis are abortion worshippers.

And let's please not forget that Libby Patatki---the one with the maid----is also doing the insider deals for the gov. Libby's lobbying and being in on land deals as a token partner when she knows nothing about the business, is a little nauseating.

She's obviously included b/c her husband is governor. Pataki's got his wife hustling for the day when he leaves office and becomes a nobody. At least the Pataki's can live in the lap of luxury while Pataki ponders how being a pro-abortion RINO short-circuited his laughable ambition to be president.

Let me add a few words to this. Open Space Institute, Scenic Hudson, Riverkeepers, etc., Greenway, Butterflies and birds. Pataki is for all of these Commie groups I have first hand knowledge of his involvement with these groups because I live just above Garrison, in a little town called Cold Spring. To see all the land being scoffed away by the oppressive NY State government for the Enviromentalist wackos is a sad site.

The Pataxi administration has dumped millions of our tax dollars to please the wacko environmentalist up here on Grand Island.

The state owns both ends of the island & all of the west River Parkway. The money was used to rebuild the eco system, dredge the marsh on the north so the fish would come back and spawn. On the left side of the pic is Canada, we are not allowed to do anything with our riverfront land, they say they worry about illegals? Bull, chinese come across all the time. If we were allowed to do something wit it like develop it we could actually have access to the water to launch a boat.

I have written letter after letter to the editor about the wackos, we are constantly being reminded that we all eminate from the wetlands... puke. We could declare the whole island wetlands, it's all clay, water doesn't drain off. That is the Niagara river and the falls is only a couple miles from us.

Hey Mayor

I used to work as a greenskeeper at River Oaks, many years ago and before joining the Navy. Is the course still up and running? An excellent picture of the island, btw!

While your making a list, don't forget the attempted sale of the Erie Canal to one of Patakis' cronies, and the appointment of one of Pataki's hacks to purge the Javits Center of corruption.

One thing that seems to have escaped a lot of people is that geography is a more important factor in someone's presidential aspirations than political party. This country will elect a Democrat from the South to the White House long before it elects a Republican from the Northeast, which explains why even a state like New York that has long been among the three largest in the U.S. (in terms of electoral votes) hasn't had a candidate on a successful national ticket since 1944.

Mayor-

I read your response to my post. Like I said, I live just above Garrison, NY (Pataki's Home town) and what I didn't say specifically in my earlier post, was that I work for NY State parks and I see the vast corruption that goes on regarding land and the confiscation of it by the government. It is a travesty! I live in a town along the Hudson and the offices for these land grabbing groups are grabbing all the land for enviromental reasons.

As Patriots, we ought to form a group to buy up land or we ought to start petitions and take the land back through eminent domain and restore it as private property. When I am at work, I see all the possibilities with all the land that is being gobbled up by the government and the land is not being utilized, no its being given to the birds and butterflies.

Can't come up with a closet full of skeletons like native/resident NYorkers can but have noticed that the man has no discernible personality.
