Shalumit Aloni was one of the founders of Ratz, the precursor to Meretz, which has since become part of Yahad. This is the most left-wing party in Israel. She was party leader before Yossi Sarid, who has since been replaced by Yossi Beilin. She makes most leftists in Israel look mild.

The sad thing is that the BBC, leftists everywhere, and the Arabs will eat this up and use it as "proof" of how evil Israel is.

As a Jew, all I can think of when reading this is...of all the poor six million killed in the Holocaust--all that promise and potential lost, why couldn't Shulamit Aloni been turned into a lampshade? If Israel cared about its own survival people like this woman would be arrested and executed as a traitor immediately.
