Where Did We Go Wrong? We Didn't!
Revava ^ | Unknown | Rabbi Baruch Kahane

As the government steps up its harassments and demonization of any Jew who is loyal to the Torah and Eretz Yisrael, many ask: where did we go wrong? Where did we fail in our efforts to bring the Jewish people closer to its national destiny? Why have we not succeeded in preserving our hold onto the land? Many good Jews grapple with this question, searching their souls as to the reasons for the failure.

And I tell you that we have not failed in the slightest! True, we have not attained our goals, but this is not due to any mistakes on our part. To the contrary, we did what had to be done, and to the utmost of our abilities (at this point, I want it to be understood that I do not think that Sharon's plan is a done deal. It is highly likely that if we continue to stand strong, his plan will not come to fruition; I am referring to the general negative trend in which we are going…) – whether it is refusing orders, blocking roads, face to face PR – we have not failed. It is precisely our success which has brought upon us the negative results. Let me explain. The Hellenist elite which controls all focal points of power in this country – the media, judiciary, academia – senses that we have won over the hearts of the nation, and are terrified of a spiritual revolution which would dislodge them from their seat of power. To combat this, they mobilized all of their energies to put down the "rebellion". And for them, the ends justify the means, no matter how filthy those means may be. And they succeeded. Because no matter how hard we try, the odds are stacked against us: they have limitless resources – and no sense of fair play or ethics to restrain them. They even have the nations of the world on their side to boot.

There is no doubt about it. History is repeating itself, and this time, it only took 17 years to do so. That's how long ago Rabbi Meir Kahane z"tl was banned from running for the Knesset after all the polls showed him winning ten seats or more. Rabbi Kahane worked tirelessly in spreading the truth to Am Yisrael, convincing them to return to Torah, expel the Arab enemy, annex the territories, etc. At the beginning, the Israeli establishment took few significant steps to stop him. It was only when they saw that he was reaching the masses that they intensified the witch-hunt against him. And in 1988, when it was clear that his party would be the third largest in the Knesset, the Israeli establishment, knowing that their hegemony was threatened, banned his party from participating in the elections of 1988.

What can we learn from this? Something very encouraging: It wasn't Rabbi Kahane who failed; it was precisely his success which caused the establishment to persecute him! One might think that the conclusion we have reached is a depressing one. After all, we will never be able to defeat them and make the necessary changes in Israel, because the powers that be will never relinquish their power, and will never let us grow to reach the masses necessary for such change. But this is not so. First of all, the government is corroding inside, and it is merely a matter of time before they collapse altogether. Secondly, even if we have no logical way to beat the establishment, we have faith in God that if we are worthy and make the necessary effort, He will make it work. This is what faith is all about.

There is also a very practical conclusion that can be drawn from all this: Any person who has hang-ups about calling for the expulsion of the Arab enemy, due to a fear that he will suffer what Rabbi Kahane suffered, is mistaken. That is not why they harassed Rabbi Kahane. They did so because he threatened their position of power. And so, it is an obligation upon all those who fight against the expulsion of Jews to offer the Jewish alternative – expulsion of the Arab enemy, as the Torah states: "And they shall not dwell in your land." And if he does so, even though success may not be guaranteed, Heavenly reward is.

The Expulsion is almost upon us. Can nothing be done?

Dr. Vendyl Jones said earlier this year that there would be no "disengagement" because he was going to find the Ark. Now would be a mighty good time!

Dr. Vendyl Jones said earlier this year that there would be no "disengagement" because he was going to find the Ark.

The pro-disengagement crowd (individuals as well as organizations and nations) are of one mind: they support disengagement because they choose to be the champions of the Philistines.

David needs to come forth with a sling slot and the faith that YHVH keeps His covenants, and plunk these bullies (giants) in the forehead once and for all.

1 Samuel 17:50-2

17 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.
51 Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled.
52 And the men of Israel and of Judah arose, and shouted, and pursued the Philistines, until thou come to the valley, and to the gates of Ekron. And the wounded of the Philistines fell down by the way to Shaaraim, even unto Gath, and unto Ekron.

The mistake was the modern concept of 'Religious Zionism'. Its proponents made so many compromises that they ceased to be Torah authorities and became merely observant politicians.

There is no reason for disappointment because there was never a reason to believe the socialist Israeli establishment would play by Torah rules.

Vendyl Jones, in my opinion, has forfeited his potential concerning the Ark, etc., by disrespecting Torah sages. A sad lost opportunity.

Dr. Jones always was a bit of an eccentric.

LOL

I may suffer from ODD (Oppostional Defiant Disorder) myself! But it's very unbecoming in the Torah world.

Wasn't OPD (Obnoxious Personality Disorder) immortalized on the TV show 'Designing Women'?

It's hard not to get depressed over what is happening in 'Eretz HaQodesh these days, though I'm sure the truly pious could explain to us how all this is part of the prophecies. But all those years of being exiled from the Land and it ends in a "Jewish" government transferring Jews while considering Arabs sacrosanct (since Jews are the "oppressors" in Israel that means they can't live in "Arab territories" but Arabs can live wherever they d@rn well please), the creation of a "Palestinian state" in the Biblical Jewish Heartland, and empty bellicosity about defending what's left of the truncated Jewish State on the Philistian coast (other than Gaza) and the Negev.

Was this not the Return? Will the Jews be expelled and then have to come back again at some point in the distant future?

What terrible, insane times we are living in!

Ironically, I'm young enough that I've never known a world without an Israel (it isn't some artificial "carbuncle state" to me). Yet I'm afraid we may find ourselves in just such a world again. G-d help us all!

...one of Rabbi Levi Nachmani's (of blessed memory, a pious and scholarly Kabbalist from Ramot, Jerusalem who passed away several years ago) leading pupils has said that there will be a disengagement in Gaza, and that the real fight will be for Jerusalem.

Rabbi BT: I am nothing but dust of the earth, and I certainly cannot contradict a single word that comes out of Rabbi Mordechai Eliahu's holy mouth, but the Zohar says emphatically that the moment of truth for the Jewish people will be Jerusalem. In my humble opinion, the settlements of Gush Katif and the exile of the thousands of righteous brave families that live there is only a tactic of diversion to conceal the real designs of the weak leaders who, rather than fearing the Lord, fear the foreign leaders who are plotting against the Jewish people. Even though I pray that the decree against Gush Katif will be rescinded, I think it will happen. Gush Katif is miniature compared to the test of faith that awaits us.

Lazer: You mean Jerusalem, Rabbi BT?

Rabbi BT: Yes. The world will try to take it from us. Few Jews will remain loyal and steadfast in their belief (emuna, in the original Hebrew). Many will think Hashem has forsaken us, G-d forbid. But, by virtue of those loyal few who unshakingly cling to their faith in Hashem, Moshiach will come and evil will be destroyed, G-d willing. The test of faith is only beginning...
