King Louis XVI's regime responded to the people's plea for less oppression by giving them more oppression. Remember the disaster at the Estates-General and the Tennis Court Oath? We all know what happened next- the gruesome spectacle of anyone and everyone associated with the aristocracy being fed head first to the guillotine to the delight of an insatiable mob demanding revenge for years of oppression.
Could it all happen agains in Tehran?
I suspect it won't turn out that way. When the Mullahs fall (and fall they will, sooner rather than later IMO) we won't see a lot of blood in the street, at least not in the long term.
