Plane lands at KCI after passenger finds razor

An America West flight made a precautionary landing at Kansas City International Airport this afternoon after a passenger found a razor blade aboard, according to airport officials.
The flight originated in Phoenix and was on its way to Cleveland when the passenger saw the one-sided blade on the floor, KCI spokesman Joe McBride said.
The plane landed in Kansas City about 1:30 p.m. It was not immediately known where the blade came from. There were no reported problems involving passengers and no reported injuries, McBride said.
According to initial reports, the passenger saw the blade near the restroom. The passenger immediately alerted the flight crew, who put the blade in the cockpit, McBride said.
The pilot then decided to land at KCI, where airport police and its canine unit searched the plane. Authorities screened the 147 passengers and crew members who were on board and found nothing suspicious, McBride said. The plane resumed its flight about 90 minutes later.
In five years we'll all be flying naked with our arms and legs strapped into the seats, and we'll only be able to get up by activating an optical sensor with our eyeballs to call the flight attendant.
Life is getting awfully tedious these days. Good grief!

Yea, yea, I know.....we have to take every precaution to...turn you into robots.

... and even photos of, or plastic toys that resemble, razors will force landings if found in flight.
I wonder if anyone realizes how much this kind of thing costs in real dollars.

Disaster was missed by a whisker.
It therefore follows that a failure to find razor blades near the inflight bathroom represents a major cause for concern.
