Woman Files Lawsuit After Being Saved From Drowning
POSTED: 10:49 am EDT August 10, 2005
NEW LONDON, Conn. -- A woman is suing the town whose police divers saved her from drowning.
Barbara Connors is suing the town of Old Saybrook, Connecticut, saying she was rescued too late to prevent serious brain damage.
The Massachusetts woman was in her son-in-law's sport utility vehicle when it jumped a curb, went through a chain-link fence and plunged into the Connecticut River.
Connors was unconscious and in cardiac arrest when divers pulled her from the water.
The son-in-law escaped the sinking vehicle and was picked up by the crew of a passing boat. Connors is also suing him.
Among other things, the suit claims the town failed to provide appropriate guardrails and equipment needed by police divers.
It says the 75-year-old woman has brain damage and must be cared for in a nursing home for the rest of her life.
No good deed goes unpunished
Arggh..Our founding fathers are rolling in their graves.
Bet she voted for John Kerry.
Who wants to check if she is a registered Democrat?
"Barbara Connors is suing the town of Old Saybrook, Connecticut, saying she was rescued too late to prevent serious brain damage."
Case dismissed. She should have said she was "too prevent rescued brain serious birdy tweet it's about 3 o'clock mommy".
Well if she is mad, she was saved too late, would she prefer death? I would put her and her lawyer in jail for this frivolous lawsuit.
Unclear if she is suing the son in law or the passing boater.
If suing the boater, she is crazy.
If suing her son in law, she is greedy. (reminds me of a case where an injured wife sued her husband who did not shovel the snow off the sidewalk)
I'm sure she'll be voting that way for years to come.
No good deed goes unpunished...

This kind of judicial liberalism is what is destoying the values of this country -- in reality, should have just let her drown. Would have been better off.
The judge should grant injunctive relief and order the divers to put her back where they found her.
I am going to sue barbara connors for my drain bamage from reading about her sorry a***
fortunately your post is great and has given me a ha-ha that somewhat mitigates my bamage....
Isn't there the good samaritan something (clause, amendment, law) to protect people from stuff like this?
