FAIRFIELD, Calif. -- The husband of Cindy Sheehan, the mother camped outside President Bush's Texas ranch to protest the death of a son in the Iraq war, has filed for divorce, according to court documents.
Patrick Sheehan filed the divorce petition Friday in Solano County court, northeast of San Francisco. His lawyer did not immediately return a call seeking comment Monday.

Progress, people...progress...
Where are the MSM editors? Sleeping on the job?
When I saw who published it I came on the thread. That's something in and of itself.
She's becoming an embarrassment to the left, now they're going to toss her over the side.
Personally, I can't really come down too hard on Ms Sheehan. Let's face it, the biggest nightmare of any parent is the loss of a child, no matter the circumstance and there is no doubt in my mind that she may have "snapped" in her grief. I completely and totally understand this and my heart goes out to her and the rest of her family.
The thing that I find to be so completely disgusting and repugnant is the way that the Anti-America, Anti-Bush, Anti-Military assholes (I am being charitable, here) have used this woman to advance their slime laden agenda. May they (Michael Moore, Move-On.org, and the MSM in general) rot in hell for all eternity for what they have done, here. These "people" have sunk to a low that is beneath contempt and they need to be taken to task for it.
Well, I can come down on her a little harder than that, but in general, I agree fully that she was taken advantage of mercilessly by the antiwar hippie crowd. But..."the truth will set you free." So light needs to shine on...
The Smoking Gun has the actual court petition:

Clearly the petition is in error-- on page 2, in the section listing grounds for divorce (for which California law provides only two choices), "irreconcilable differences" is checked, but "incurable insanity" is, oddly, unchecked.
Obviously an oversight. I think the judge should grant the man a do-over, don't you?
AMEN!!!
I understand what you are saying that losing a child may cause someone to "snap" in their grief but this woman was a member of "Moonbats R Us" for a long time going back to at least the 2000 election. She was an activist and did not support her son nor respect what he was doing for his country...maybe she has gone over the edge from guilt..who knows but she is "not right" as Rush said today.
...one of the few legitimate reasons that I can think of for divorce: abandonment. Sheehan is an hysterical, domineering, neo-Nazi witch.
Can either of you two show me any documentation produced prior to April 2004 that can substantiate the claims. Because I can't. And I have looked long and hard.
(Note: a lot of people (including her) "remember" her being active prior to her son's death and have brought those memories out since she's become a poster-girl (barf) of the left. Nobody's shown me ANYTHING produced from before that time)
But I'll change my opinion if somebody can produce some documentation (not to include documentation of somebody's "memory") substantiating that claim.
Having said that, she is currently a moonbat and, if not so off-the-edge, would be dangerous. I am not defending her actions now. I just always try to keep it in context...
Rather than saying "that traitorous b**ch," I prefer "that poor, sick, demented, traitorous b**ch." I just feel it to be a little more charitable, that's all.
I can't imagine the reality of losing a child. But I have known people who's child (12 years old) was abducted and butchered by a devoid. I've also watched a young child slowly die from cancer. These were very sad things. In the case of the people who's child was murdered those folks went on to build one of the most successful organizations to help find missing children in America. In the latter case the mother of the child that died from cancer has been helping other families who's children have been striken by cancer. These people I describe that lost so much went on to do positive things for other chikdren. Unlike this Sheehan woman who has put other MEN and WOMEN in harms way by her actions. She has not helped her dead sons fellow soldiers at all that I can see. She has made their lives more dangerous.
Unlike the children that I describe above who died Ms. Sheehan's son was an adult. He was a grown man who signed up for the armed forces. All on his own. And I understand he did it twice. How sad for his memory that his wants and desires and self-sacrifice have been put aside by his mother instead of celebrated.
Here's a good place to start:

digging up the other info for you.
He must have finally looked at her face. OUT B*TCH OUT !!!!
I agree with Rush 99% of the time; but in this case - no! In my mind, a grieving mother is allowed to make or do whatever she wants in the memory of her child. I personally, feel the greatest respect for her son, who died for his country and us. It is not this women who should vilified, but the media for using her so.
But...I wouldn't look at this divorce angle being published in the Post as progress. When a man divorces his grieving wife, the man looks like an uncaring, heartless ba$tard. And how else would the MSM want a man to be portrayed? I'll bet he voted for Bush, too.
Let me re-emphasize, I agree fully with your current assessment of Sister Moonbat. I just believe she suffered a break when her son died that changed her from a normal soccer-mom type lib into a freak. That's why I always insist upon seeing proof of moonbattiness from before her son died.
Not trying to start a separate argument, though. Just want to make sure in our villification that we keep it accurate and don't start acting like a bunch of DUmmies...unlike them, facts are our friends...
Very well said. I think Mrs. Sheehan's grief has caused her to snap. It happens.
But the Left are beneath contempt for their use of this woman.
