Oil embargo best response to nuclear issue - Iranian hardline daily
IRNA ^ | Aug 14

The best way to confront the US and EU3 dictatorship is to "impose an embargo on oil sales to those countries, said an English-language paper here Sunday commenting on last Thursday "unfair" resolution of the UN nuclear watchdog against Iran.

The 'Tehran Times' suggested in its editorial that the world oil-rich states should form a united front in order to confront "Western neocolonialist countries." Criticizing the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) resolution against Iran, the paper said that it was ratified "to meet the objectives of the Zionist regime and the United States." It added that the resolution, issued under pressure from the United States and the European Union big three, actually indicated that "the status of international organizations, including the IAEA, has declined seriously in the face of the blackmail of the neocolonialist powers." the paper further criticized West's double-standard policy towards the nuclear issue saying "Although several countries, including the Zionist regime, Pakistan and India are producing nuclear weapons and most of them have conducted nuclear tests, the United States and its Western allies are trying to deprive Iran of its right to gain access to civilian nuclear expertise." Referring to the fact that the US and other Western countries were highly dependent to the natural resources of the Middle Eastern states, including their fossil fuel resources, to power their military and civilian industries, Tehran Times suggested that the oil-rich countries, including Iran, which possess "the most significant pressure lever, should wisely use this tool to punish the Western neocolonialist countries.

"Oil is the lifeline of the West, and most of the West's military industries are dependent on it. Therefore, it is the most potent economic weapon for settling scores with neocolonialist countries," the paper stressed.

It further noted that the Iranian nation clearly has the right to stand up to the "dictatorship of the EU3 and the U.S and the best act of resistance would be to impose an embargo on oil sales to those countries." Stressing that Iran is a country "with great potential to respond to Western meddling," the paper said that Tehran should consult with some OPEC countries and then propose plans to confront the hegemonic actions of the West.

"Islamic countries must unite and formulate a political strategy to respond to Western neocolonialist countries, since the efforts to prevent Iran from accessing nuclear technology are the first step in the plan to prevent other Islamic and Third World countries from developing this vital technology," warned the paper in conclusion.

Let me hold my hand to my ear to catch the media blitz that will jump all over the Iranians for proposing something so foolish, an action like that of war, against our nation...

(crickets chirping in the background)

Right, right.. Antisemitic statements are perfectly fine coming from Iran, as well as dogma that would have, oh, say, a congress critter nailed up on the stake. But if you're a middle eastern nation-state ruled by a religious council, that's just fine.

I wonder if we'll ever have a real news outlet that will present news in an honest manner with regards to that part of the world. You know, USE THE UNEDITED RAW WORDS OF THESE TERRORISTS!

The problem is still future nukes. We can blockade, but while we're putting the plug in the dike, they will be working their tails off to get a working bomb.
Unless there is a change of leadership we are left with one alternative. Remove their ability to produce the bombs.

The best way to avoid this and more is by staying off the territories and the life of other countries. He who lives by the sword dies by the sword. Eventually, if the US continues invading countries, the US too will be invaded. This is just the way life is, believe it or reject it, laugh at it or accept it!

Karma would not eventually hurt the US, if the US did not always act selfishly. Remember, "To him that much is given, much is expected of." But, the US does not help countries and/or groups when there is no benefit to the US.

It is obvious why the US protected and protects Saudi Arabia. It is obvious why the US helped and protected Mr. Bin Laden, and it is obvious that the US might still be protecting him. The US helped the Shah of Iran when the US needed him, then the US abandoned him. The US helped Mr. Noriega (Panama) when it needed him, then the US imprisoned him. The US helped Mr. Saddam when the US needed him, then the US imprisoned him. Now, the US has more people in prison in Iraq than Mr. Saddam ever did! I could go on and on!

Why is the middle class vanishing in the US? Is it because maybe it is not needed any more? The US rich feel comfortable, secure, and confident; more poor people around means more servant like beings at the ready. Is it, maybe, possible that the US rich are too confident and blind to see that technology allows few secrets?! Have they forgotten what happens in any country, when there are too many poor people who are aware of what is really going on?!

The US has gargantuan problems at home, and the US has no need to meddle in the life of other countries.

Captured documents after the collapse of the USSR showed that the Soviets thought they'd have a terrible time subjugating two of the 50 US states, Texas and Alabama. If your state wasn't mentioned, why not? It behooves every state to have a citizen militia to call on for its own defense. We get that by making sure our children 1) love freedom, 2) have a sense of individual responsibility, and 3) know how to shoot well.

What are you talking about?

Exactly what did we have to gain by going to Somalia trying to feed the starving while being shot at?

What did we have to gain by throwing the Serbs out of Kosovo to protect Muslims of all things?

We send more money, food and medicine aid all over the world than any other country period.

We sent men and material to the Tsunami struck areas sooner and in far greater quantity than anyone else. Not much of a thank you.

The "poor" in this country are wealthier than they have ever been before. They have a higher standard of living than the Europeans. In fact the "poor" in the US are better off than most of the "middle class" in Europe. Fact.

"To him that much is given, much is expected of."

And our sons and daughters are dying overseas right now trying to stop murdering Islamist fascist and other assorted dictators. Very few have risen to the challenge when called - and we have.

So say thank you and get out of the way.

Iran is playing stupidly. They have become a servant of China and that is not a good position. They will be allowed to play at world domination and Moslem hegemony as long as it suits their masters.

The foolish mullahs believe they act for allah, when in truth, they are in the grip of godless Chinese Communists who direct their moves.
