Is America Evil? Ask the Church of Satan
The Black Table ^
Posted on 08/17/2005 7:34:51 AM PDT by Captain Kirk
Most Church of Satan members would support victory for the United States, since its secular form of government, as well as its culture, promotes individualism and freedom. This secularism is seen as "Satanic" by fanatical Muslims and rightly so -- from their perspective. The architects of the U.S. Government were Freemasons and they held many Satanic values, so we feel that Americans should embrace the role they give to us as "The Great Satan."
Should a fundamentalist Islamic regime come to power, they would obviously treat Satanists as enemies of the state. To support that outcome would not be a wise choice for Satanists.

Anton LaVey was an atheist. He knew that he could milk followers for more money by embracing "Satan" as a figurehead.
The Church of Satan is a club of atheists.
Sammy Davis Jr. joined it purely for the orgies.

That's weird. The article reads more like they're talking to secularists than satanists.

Yeah, this line kind of give is away:
...there is no such thing as absolute good or absolute evil. It's all kinda relative, depending on your personal interests.

Hehhe....
Oddly, knowing what I do about their ideology, it does make a certain amount of sense. Unfortunately, for some reason I can't stop seeing a certain amount of humor in it as well...

Given the choice between freedom and slavery, I will choose freedom. If Masons are for freedom, then I will chosse Masons. If Moslems are for slavery (submission), I will oppose them. If my love for freedom somehow puts me on the same side as Masons and Satanists, and opposed to radical Muslims and the few remaining radical Christians who would favor an inquisition and whipping people for fornication, then I guess I will have to accept that.
God gave us free will. That includes the freedom to choose to sin. Our earthly government should punish misbehavior that seriously injures (or kills) other people. That is why I am dead against abortion, but also against against tyranny by those who would use force in an attempt to save our souls. As happened in the inquisition and in early New England.

That doesn't say that America is evil, it says that the Satanists judge the current America to be more tolerant of Satanists than an Islamic America would be.
