MOSCOW, Aug 18 (KUNA) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has said it is necessary to set a timetable for withdrawal of coalition troops from Iraq.
During a joint press conference with visiting King Abdullah of Jordan on Thursday, Putin said, "We believe it is necessary to work out a schedule of gradual withdrawal of coalition troops from Iraq.." "The solution of this problem will help involve the most part of Iraqi resistance forces in the state construction," the Russian president stressed.
"All ethnic and confessional groups, and political parties, including the opposition, should take part in an inter-political dialogue," he said. He affirmed the necessity of adopting a new constitution and elect bodies of power for Iraq at present.
"We're convinced that it is necessary to step up the role of the world community in the Iraqi settlement," Putin added.
On the Sharm El Sheikh forum, he said, "We believe that a new conference to be held by the end of the year would give an impetus to the normalisation of the situation." Putin said Russia would continue to take an active part in the Middle East settlement.

Putin is making a mistake, by kicking at the U.S. when it is in a war. Maybe it is time for Putin to come up with a timetable for REAL DEMOCRACY in Russia !!!!!

How long will it be before this idiotic statement of Putin's gets around the world and back to Russia before we quit being reminded of it just because some different news outlet, and some posters here, pretend it is new "news"?
Putin isn't too smart - sneaky, but not smart. He spits on the one power that is benign to him and makes pacts with the devil that calls itself China. China will swallow him up and spit out puree if he doesn't wise up.
