“You Don’t Speak For Me Cindy” Caravan Arrives In Crawford Next Saturday (by KWTX 10 in Texas)

The “You Don’t Speak for Me Cindy” caravan leaves the studios of a San Francisco radio station on Monday and arrives in Crawford next Saturday to hold a rally and vigil.

Move America Forward is sponsoring the rally.

The rally will be held from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. next Saturday at the Crawford Community Center.

The vigil will be held at dusk in front of the sculpture, “Freedoms Angel of Steadfast Love,” which is dedicated to victims of the 9/11 attacks.

The focus of the rally, however, wasn't in Central Texas as plans were announced.

Cindy Sheehan returned to California Thursday after learning her mother had suffered a stroke.

Sheehan spent almost two weeks camped out along a rural roadside, demanding a meeting with the vacationing President Bush about the death of her 24-year-old son, Casey, a 1st Cavalry Division soldier who was killed in 2004 in Iraq.

Organizers of the rally expressed sorrow about the illness, but said the demonstration will proceed as planned.

“The issue here is the fact that the service members and their families have not had their voices heard during the past weeks of Ms. Sheehan’s vigil,” a message posted on the group’s Web site said.

“They support the troops and the mission they are serving in,” the group said.

Sheehan’s mother was in stable condition Friday.

Sheehan has vowed to return to Texas to continue her protest.

Other protesters, who had originally planned to move to a patch of private pastureland at the invitation of a local landowner, decided instead to remain along the roadside and use the new site for rallies and other large events, instead.

An 80-by-160-foot tent was erected Friday in the pasture.

The "Cindy, you don't speak for Us" group should use the song "Stand Tall, Stand Proud, Voices That Care Are Crying Out Loud" as their theme song for the rally. It's a beautiful song that shows support for the soldiers.

It would be nice if, say, 100,000 Freepers could join them. I believe I would make time and pay the airfare.

The MSM will still ignore 100,000 Freepers.

You'll be fortunate to get 100 FReepers to actually get off their duffs and get involved.

No, not on this event. Too much publicity. That'll actually get a few extra folks out.

But the 100K number is laughable. Conservatives talk a good game, but it's like pulling teeth to actually get them to DO something.

March for Justice II - maybe 300 people
Sleazeballs protesting our wounded soldiers at Walter Reed - we're lucky to get 15 folks
Support the troops rallies in D.C. - 150 is a good day

And there are thousands of FReepers within an hour or so of D.C.

#10 No, not on this event. Too much publicity.

Be careful backpedaling that fast, you might hurt yourself.

I didn't backpedal at all, thanks. Put it in context - 100,000 or 100.

You are correct, KWTX, they're in Iraq and around the world protecting your right to say this Bravo Sierra, lame brain!

You made a claim, he offered to bet you, you abandoned your claim.

You're out of your mind. My claim still stands -- You'll be fortunate to get 100 FReepers to actually get off their duffs and get involved.

I'm not withdrawing a thing, despite your apparent cackling with glee that you think Swinney "got" me. My point was the overall context. I won't place money on whether there are 65 FReeepers or 165 FReepers. Both will soundly prove my point.

Not to mention, exactly who is going to decide which ones are FReepers? Answer: Nobody. Any press report showing over 100 pro-military supporters (which I'm sure there will be) will likely be declared as "FReepers" and victory. I'm just not that much of a sucker. Sorry.

How about if Jim Robinson comes up with a FReeper number?
