Illegal immigration, that's the number one issue today. The GOP better wake up.

If GWB & the GOP doesn't get their act together on illegal immigration this clown may be right...

Immigration will be this President's Achilles heel. Bush seems either unwilling or unable to even seriously address a major issue like this. When the next big terrorist attack occurs in this country, they will most likely have gained entrance to the U.S. through our Southern border. It's pissed ALOT of people off, including me.

yea, well all know now that the "9/11 commission" had about as much credibility as a screen door on a submarine...but then when we all saw who the members were we knew it would be a hoax...

Discontent with the Republican Party is giving Democrats a good chance to earn big victories in the 2006 and 2008 elections, according to former U.S. Rep. Lee Hamilton, D-Ind.

Since the demoncrats have defined not winning as a "victory," they can't lose.

Lee Hamilton has done his part by signing-off on the 9/11 commission document that cleared Bill Clinton. He is one of the most sanctimonious individuals ever sent from Indiana and incubated in Washington.

Agreed. My liberal friend tried to let me down easy before the 2004 election saying no matter who wins, we should support them, convinced that Kerry would win. I agreed. .... After the election, no words have been spoken on the subject. The delusion continues.

That is hilarious. Especially since it took place in Columbus--which is pretty much dominated by the GOP.

I agree. I don't think Bush or his people realize how the immigration issue is turning so many of his former supporters against him and against Repubs in general. I believe his poor approval ratings would jump back into the high 50% range overnight if he announced a policy of strictly enforcing immigration law by stationing troops on the border and deporting illegals as soon as they are caught.

Of course he would need to follow up an announcement by some real action, and I don't see that ever happening. The demand from business and agriculture interests for cheap labor is too strong for most Republicans to ever do anything that would reduce the supply. I don't think the Dems would do anything about it either if they get back in power, but many people will buy their promises, probably enough to win back Congress in 06 and the White House in 08 I'm afraid.

I thought it was hilarious too. Since it's just a local paper, it wouldn't get any attention.
