BUT if the Rats don't adopt free market principles to solve all these problems, Social Security, Medicare, deficits (not with tax increases) then things will get ALOT worse. So win yes, but I think one of the big reasons we are having problems is that we just don't want to do all the heavy lifting. We want the easy way out. Let's exit Iraq. That will make us feel better never mind the longer term consequences. Let's take a pass on the hard work of reforming Social Security. That problem is a few years down the road. Let's make political hay by introducing protectionist legislation. Greenspan today lamented this. And so on. Yes, the Rats may win and then wonder why it was worth it later when things really go south. These next 10-20 years are going to be the toughest since the 30's and 40's and not for the faint of heart or the ill equipped politician.
