Wicked Witch of the Ditch (Sheehan, who else?)
Chron Watch ^ | 31 August 2005 | Dustin Hawkins

Not much will keep Cindy down. Her husband is divorcing her, her mother had a stroke, and most of the rest of her family thinks she is stomping on her son’s grave. But she’s still going strong, replacing her actual family with the much more sociable aliens-abducted-my-grandparents crowd that turned out in Crawford to lend their wallets, fashion crews, and media teams. Oh wait, I mean to lend their “emotional support” for the “grieving” mother.

Of course, Cindy doesn’t want all of the media attention. She wants to be able to “walk into the supermarket and not be recognized.” I guess this would explain her appearances on Hardball, Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Real Time with Bill Maher, Good Morning America, and her recently announced anti-war bus tour. She might as well fly to Iraq and pose with some “freedom fighters” on a camel. I’d call her the Jane Fonda of the War on Terror if it weren’t for the fact that she won’t go away, either.

It’s like a battle of the anti-war tours. Cindy Sheehan has the momentum, but Jane has the experience. Throw in Michael Moore’s speaking tour and we can make a reality show out of it all and call it a day. But you have to give it to Cindy for mastering the ability to launch into Susan Sarandon-esque crying tirades on cue. One minute she’s laughing it up with reporters, Martin Sheen, and her adoring fans, and the next she’s weeping graciously in front of a row of crosses with Al Sharpton at her side.

But why is Cindy there? She says its not for the publicity, in fact she says she doesn’t want it at all, but she won’t get away from the cameras, the interview booths, the make-up crews, or the photo-ops. She continuously says it’s to meet with President Bush, but then tells Keith Olbermann, and later Bill Maher, that she actually doesn’t want to meet with President Bush because it will affect the media coverage, which she notably says she doesn’t want. And along with not wanting the media coverage, which she also decries as being a bunch of liars and Bush propagandists, she is upset that it took so long (“it took months”) to get the media attention... that she does not want. Okay, I’m confused. But at least she stays on message.

But almost as annoying as Sheehan herself is the insistence of conservatives to preface any criticism of Queen Moonbat with sympathetic assurances that “she has every right to protest, and say how she feels,” etc. That much is fairly self-evident inasmuch as the media reports on her every bowel movement and she has yet to be quietly whisked away to some fascist torture camp. And if there ever were any reason to support the suppression of speech, this would be it. Not only does she encourage the enemy (or in Sheehan speak: the freedom fighters), and disgrace our troops by claiming that their work in assuring Iraqi freedom and democracy, ending the reign of two brutal regimes, and capturing and killing tens of thousands of Al-Qaida and other extremist Islamo-fascist terrorist groups is not a “noble cause” but her voice is also really, really annoying. I’ve had to stick with closed-captioning for the better part of the past month.

Of course, it appears that I am the one who should be sent out of the country for calling Cindy the left’s “Anti-American Idol.” Probably the best way to not be called anti-American is to actually support America at some point. If, for instance, you call George W. Bush a “terrorist” and “bastard” who had your son “murdered” while not harboring any ill-will towards the terrorists who killed your son, whom you then refer to as freedom fighters, you might not be on the top of the list for Patriot of the Year. Conspiratorially induced, slightly fragrant Hippy of the Year, maybe. But not Patriot of the Year.

And if, then, you said “America has been killing people... since we first stepped on this continent. We have been responsible for death and destruction” and “I’m going all over the country telling moms this country is not worth dying for” would that be considered a pro-American stance? Would it be too much to call that an anti-American stance? Cindy Sheehan calls our military murderers, has no ill-will towards those who actually killed her son, blames the United States for 9/11, attacks the United States for standing behind Israel’s “illegal occupation,” calls Americans terrorists while calling terrorists freedom fighters, and liberals get all apoplectic because people are saying that she doesn’t support America. Yeah, that’s a shocker.

Not to worry, the Cindy Sheehan leftist hobby horse has died. The new leftist hobby horse 'flavor of the month' -- Katrina is her name, and global warming is her foil.

I've decided that Cindy Sheehan is the first posthumous case of "Munchausen's Syndrome by Proxy."

Too bad her son had to die for her to get all the attention she craves, although I doubt there is such a thing as "all the attention" she craves. When the media trucks are gone, the interviews are gone, the fawning hangers-on are gone -- and there will be a new anti-America "it girl" one of these days -- Cindy will spend the rest of her life wondering "where have the flowers gone?" (And the flowers will have nothing to do with a funeral wreath for her son, but the flower of attention for herself.)

You misunderstando Lando -

Cindy wants history to record 'Camp Casey' as the beginning of the "peace movement" that ended the Iraq war and in their recounting, anti-war participants can say, with awe, " I met Casey's Mom."

In her narcissism, she has made no reference to the heroism and honor of Casey, that I can recall.

Good post - thanks, sp

I know she's over, for now. But over the week-end, when I saw her say... "I know this will end the Iraq war!" It sent cold chills completely through me. She has allied herself directly to International A.N.S.W.E.R. who before the devastation in NYC had even been cleaned up were getting posters hung in the locked bulletin board in my US Post Office, calling the President, VP and Rumsfeld "guilty of war crimes for starting a racist war!!!"

"President Bush said my son died in a noble cause,
and I want to ask him what that noble cause is."

Cindy Sheehan

Cindy : Iraq Freedom is the noble cause.
No longer do I fear the butcher Saddam Hussein murdering my children!

President Bush Remembers Halabja
Saturday, 15 March 2003
President's Radio Address (Remembering Halabja)
"This weekend marks a bitter anniversary for the people of Iraq.
Fifteen years ago, Saddam Hussein's regime ordered a chemical weapons attack on a village in Iraq called Halabja. With that single order, the regime killed thousands of Iraq's Kurdish citizens. Whole families died while trying to flee clouds of nerve and mustard agents descending from the sky. Many who managed to survive still suffer from cancer, blindness, respiratory diseases, miscarriages,
and severe birth defects among their children..."

Anyone who thinks Hanoi Kerry and Hanoi Jane
aren't behind the anti war crowd
needs to get a clue.
Remember the slaughter and torture of the people of Viet Nam by the communists
while Hanoi Kerry and Hanoi Jane cheered their commie buddies!

Lame Stream Media : News Flash!

President Bush already met with Cindy Sheehan in June 2004 for 10 minutes.

From The Reporter, Vacaville, CA archive: Bush, Sheehans share moments.

"guilty of war crimes for starting a racist war"
The same chant the crowd at the 1998 townhall meeting in Columbus, OH used on Albright, Berger, and Cohen. Guess who? CPUSA.

If there's any silver lining to the dark cloud of Hurricane Katrina, it's that the MSM was diverted to more serious matters. Now, if only "Hurricane Cindy" will go away.

An ode to Cindy Sheehan (Commie Seditionist):

At first you were just a nuisance in the ditch.

Now, you're just an anti-American witch.

Why are you spouting this pro-terrorist pitch?

Al Jazeera passes your lies to haters of flitch.

The MSM is attached to your rear with a hitch.

Is professional political protesting your niche?

You speak to the media with a mental twitch.

Your U.S. flag is in need of more than one stitch.

Your logic doesn't come off without a glitch.

Do you care about Casey or just getting rich?

Your info must come from a kid named Mitch.

Guess what word is missing here. You _____!

Cindy Sheehan is just the latest incarnation of the weasel like actions of John Kerry.

She stands outside the gates of the White House (West) and throws someone else medals (her son's service) over the fence while pretending the sacrifice is hers.

Truth is, she keeps her claim claim to fame (a son killed in Iraq) just as Kerry kept his medals.

She claims the moral high ground while refusing to answer inquiries into her (lack of) character. If her son had not been made of better stuff than she, she would never have had the necessary criteria to be (willingly) co-opted by the left.

She can never afford to take a rational look at her actions because if she ever realized what she's done to her son's legacy, her shame will be overwhelming.
