Jeb would be better than Rudy in this case ... he has 4x direct hands-on experience with widespread problems.

The local Dems have been trashing Bush. It's payback time. Bush doesn't need to trash them. All he needs to do is very publicly appoint Rudy to the job, and that will say all he needs to say.

So lets get Jeb ANNND Giuliani to work on this(though Jeb I understand is dealing with Katrina's earlier strike on Florida).

Would be called neoptism... also after RFK was Attorney General congress passed a nepotism law and you can't put a family member in any official positions of government.

Wow. Some pubbies ain't too dumb. Rudy would put a more positve face on the relief effort as it relates to the administration. It would be a nice contrast compared to the teary-eyed Governor and the fowl-mouthed mayor.

Putting Rudy on the case would send a clear signal that there is no confidence in local state/city management..but then look for the DEMS to complain that their authority is being over-run by the feds, when they are the ones yellin to get fed help right now..IMHO

Put Guiliani in a high visibility position. He will be the only Republican hope in 2008 after the MSM is through gutting Bush.

If this happens, and things go well, it would set Giuliani up nicely for '08.

The mayor of New Orleans orders a "mandatory evacuation" before the storm while at the same time leaving over 400 buses parked. They could have been used to help get the suffering people we are seeing today, out of that city.

Yet today - he rails and blames who? you guessed it - "it's Bush's fault".

Unreal.................
