A Tale of Two Doctors (Frist tends to Katrina's sick; Dean issues Press Releases Attacking Frist)
Federal Review ^ | 9/05/05

Posted on 09/05/2005 12:21:15 PM PDT by Behind Liberal Lines

The Associated Press reports that Senate Majority leader Bill Frist, Republican, and a doctor, has gone down to Louisiana to treat hurricane victims:

The senator spent the day treating diabetics for low blood sugar and dealing with cases of high blood pressure and dehydration. Though he is a surgeon by training, there was no need to perform surgery on Saturday, he said. After overnighting in Nashville, Tenn., following his day in New Orleans, Frist planned to return to the Gulf Coast on Sunday to work in storm-ravaged areas of Mississippi and Alabama, as well as returning with supplies to New Orleans.

Meanwhile, Frist's fellow politician/physician, Democrat Party Chair Howard Dean is issuing press releases attacking Frist for his position on the estate tax.

I was wondering if Howie had offered his expertise as a doctor.

Probably aren't doing a lot of abortions down there right now.

The term "Hippocratic Oath" obviously means nothing to Screamin' Howard...

Abortions and expert testimony in liable cases aren't a priority right now.

Howie's holding back until the first flush of humanitarian fever subsides. That's when he can swoop in for the really big fees.

I think Frist makes a better doctor than politician.

Well, if it's anything useful Howie could help out instead of carp.

Especially Dean who seems to be a Proctologist for his own mouth instead of a physician.

I didn`t like Senator Frists public mugging of the President on stem cell research(lets make abortion a positive thing)a few weeks ago bit kudos to him for what he is doing there now.I have not heard anything from him that sounds as if he were angling for a political gain.
I would say the same if Dr.Dean was doing the same.

As a politician I'm not fond of Frist.

On a personal level, as a Doctor, he's a good man.

Though we should cut Dean slack. I am not confidant he wouldn't cause more harm than good in the field. Those people don't need him bungling their care as he does picking up recruits for the DNC.
