So why would someone hijack a plane to smuggle a nuclear bomb into the country?

That's the last thing they'd do. They don't want to increase suspicion and increase the chances of getting caught by using a stolen plane. A nuke would be their most prized possession. They'd just buy a plane and quietly bring it in.

It is these sorts of claims that make me not buy the story. They simply don't make sense. Of course bringing it over the border in a small plane doesn't really make sense either...

Like I said, fact check is recommended. There's something to this, but perhaps not what the author is claiming.

It's one thing to connect the dots, but the space in between the dots is anybody's guess.

Such a plane could be used to spritz a radioactive mixture over an urban area, to dirty bomb it.
