Takeback the Memorial Alert
Take Back The Memorial . Org ^ | September 7, 2005 | takebackthememorial.org

>Greetings Supporters!

We have received several emails asking if the rally is still on and the answer is YES!

We had considered postponing the rally because of the tragic events in the Gulf Cost, but New York Officials have not stopped their efforts to raise funds for the International Freedom Center (IFC) and there is no time for inaction. Yesterday, New York Mayor, Mike Bloomberg, urged American corporations to continue to fund his vision of a 9/11 memorial, one that includes the IFC.

Over the course of the last ten days, we have channeled our energies into Katrina relief. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the victims in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. But New York Officials are moving ahead aggressively to ensure the IFC remains part of the memorial to the heroes of 9/11. For that reason, the rally must take place as scheduled.

So stories in the Washington Post that have begun referring to the campaign to take back the memorial in the past tense are wrong. To take a cue from Mark Twain, the reports of our demise have been greatly exaggerated.

The IFC, the LMDC, Governor Pataki and Mayor Bloomberg are not off the hook.

With the plight of our fellow Americans in the wake of Katrina, our tone will change. However, our determination and our message will not. The International Freedom Center must go.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Everyone in the NY/NJ/Connecticut area, please try to make it to this event, the true WTC memorial needs your support.

Question for all you in the NY/NJ/Connecticut area who are also WABC radio listeners. Where in the hell has Sean Hannity been on this issue?? Absent.

The elections will come and go, Hillary will come and go, the Aruba mess was a Hollywood MSM diversion, Katrina relief will come and go but forever after into the future there will be a memorial at ground zero. Will it be dominated by a Marxist history indoctrination center, the IFC, or will it respect those who died and those who tried to save lives there?

And will we remember those who worked their butts off to try to prevent the desecration of the memorial, and those who did not step up to the plate? Yes, like an elephant, we will not forget.

At least the loathsome Drawing Center is gone, after receiving a huge bribe that they didn't deserve.

That is not enough.

The country club eltist appointees on the LMDC hear what they want to hear from the Marxist crowd behind the IFC and believe, in their stupidity, that the IFC crowd has America's best interests at heart.

Would a Jeff Sessions, a George Allen, a John Roberts, a Sensenbrenner, a Delay, or many others have failed to see through the IFC rhetoric to their Marxist heart? I don't think so. But we get a plastic, country club, crony-facilitating Pataki who wouldn't know the difference between an IFC and Williamsburg Virginia.

The art museum was and would have been minor compared to the Marxist indoctrination of the IFC - ON HALLOWED GROUND. It is a national disgrace.

Lay off of Hannity, for God's sake! Sean, like all talk show hosts, deal in what are known as CURRENT EVENTS. Everything that has happened in the past two weeks has been filtered through the coverage of Katrina New Orleans, and rightfully so! Hannity is a NATIONAL talk show host.

It's to Debra Burlingame's credit that she has stayed focused, because when there is a Big Story That Everybody's Talking About, the politicians do their sneakiest work (i.e., the Gay Marriage Vote in the California Legislature that won by a single vote). So get back to work and quit whining about how too much attention is being given to people who have just lost everything they have!

I decided not to try to get people there by 9:30 a.m.

We are on for the Cindy tour, though. Not sure whether it will be on the 20th or the 18th.

Right. The state that selected Hillary!; will keep the 9/11 Memorial exactly that, a 9/11 Memorial?

Hannity wouldn't be a national talk show host if his New York audience and ratings hadn't built his ability to increase his national syndication.

And the IFC is a national issue, because the doings at the IFC and ground zero will be for the nation, not just New Yorkers.

And, the political deminsions of the IFC will be with us forever after, not just tomorrow, next week or next month or next year, but permanently. Thus, we can let current issues dominate while the Marxists slip in the IFC because the people who have the ability to bring attention to the matter CHOOSE to ignore the issue.

Others here in New York have chosen to give the TakebacktheMemorial effforts the prominence and priority it deserves. Sean has not and I am not just talking about right now, this week.

The missing girl in Arubu (how many missing girls in the U.S. are there) got ten times more attention from Sean the Marxists doings with the IFC - for weeks.

And this afternoon what is the important part of his conversation with Newt - "oh successful I have been".

Yea, Katrina and the IFC? No self-promotion and let's get Newt to pat me on the back.

I'm not sure if there is much chance left to win on this. Pataki is out of the political loop, he was trying at least to do something, but there is no more leverage with him. no other politician has stood up to say much about stopping this, I don't know what can be done at this point. and this Katrina focus makes it much harder now, this whole 9-11 4th anniversary is being swallowed up by Katrina.

I wish the entire rebuilding plan there would be scrapped - Rudy was right, nothing should have been built there except the memorial.

No, Rudy was not right (although he showed fabulous leadership in the days, weeks and months following the attack)...Trump was right...rebuild the towers, even a little higher...

I find it interesting that the one option which probably would have garnered the most sustained support among New Yorkers was never seriously contemplated by the LMDC or any public official involved in the rebuilding process.

Also, that the Foster design-which was almost universally acknowledged as being the most architecturally sound, aesthetically pleasing and conceptually innovative of the major proposals-was ultimately rejected.

So much for political courage.

*shrugs*
