Ms. B and I were at BNAS this morning. I arrived at 7:30 and the opponents were already set up at their post. Ms. B got held up in traffic, and we weren't able to set up across the street from them until 9:00 or so.
Two news channels (8 and 13) and a reporter from the Times Record were there. I'm just wondering where everyone else was! I know I haven't been around much lately, but has support for our troops fallen apart that much in Maine?!
Was it just poor planning, or did everyone else have more important things to do? I'm glad I was released by my doctor to be able to drive yesterday so that at least two of us were there! I'm really disappointed right now. :(
From what I understand there were supposed to be others who met at the edge of the base at 8:00 am. Then they were going to drive up together to the base gate...
The original thread for the counter-protest is here;

Were you in touch with Freeper snowrip at all? I can't imagine with all the pre-planning work she did (speaking to the officials and such) that she wouldn't show (unless there was a major problem...).
Anyway, it is disappointing...
I've also noticed that many freepers are coming onto the threads and basically trying to destroy the morale for counter-protesting Sheehan and such - saying we should ignore her... My thoughts on that are they were probably the ones saying that if we ignore Kerry (back in the 70s) he will just fade away. It doesn't happen - 30 years later he ran for PRESIDENT!
