It isn't very encouraging to realize that in order to believe Roberts won't betray conservatives, once confirmed, one has to believe that he is being disingenuous now, but once on the bench will rediscover his integrity.
The cartoon is funny in that it shows how gullible conservatives are. The Democrats are playing a role (Senator Biden to Roberts: 'You're the best I've ever seen before the committee'...) and conservatives are exhibiting the expected knee-jerk reaction - circling the wagons around a stealth liberal.

Nothing in Judge Robert's background would suggest he is a liberal. We want guys to interpret the Constitution the way it is. Activism on the right side of the bench is no better then on the left. Would you rather Roberts bare his soul and then not get on? He can not do that. He will decide the case on the rule of law, not emotion and not ideology, that is fair. Nothing else is.

calling Roberts a stealth liberal is somewhat naive. He willingly and clearly applied the title "strict constructionist" to himself in the hearings two days ago. Tell me ONE liberal who would call himself a "strict constructionist?"

What confirmation are you watching?
Because I've watched all of it and I can't see where you are getting this interpretation / view.
