Well, I lived through Fran, Floyd, and Isabelle in the last few years (oh, and one big ice storm). Any structure that survived Fran is sturdy enough to survive anything else.
As long as I make sure I have gas for the chainsaw, I'm good for a couple of weeks.

We got as far as Hurricane Tanya in 1995; the S-storm that year was Tropical Storm Sebastien. 1933 had enough storms to get that far too (as far as W) but that was before we were routinely naming hurricanes. I think we're gonna run out of names this year for the first time!
