He's the guy who won the Vietnam War singlehandedly, when he went on a secret Christmas 1968 mission to Cambodia for President Nixon with a CIA team.

Except that, well, it wasn't quite Cambodia, but it was on the river, close to the border.

Except that, well, it wasn't quite Christmas, but was around Christmas or before or after.

Except that, well, Nixon wasn't exactly President, only President-elect at that time.

Except that, well, it was with the CIA but it was so secret he still, in 2004, couldn't talk about, even though he did (and may still) carry the CIA hat in his briefcase.
