Authorities nab suspected 'FedEx bandit' (Iranian national)

SAN DIEGO – After an exhaustive search, authorities say they've captured a man suspected of being the "FedEx bandit." Farzad Farhbaksh, 40, was caught entering Mexico Monday at a Tijuana border checkpoint, said Lauren Mack, spokeswoman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Farhbaksh was being pursued for six months, Mack said. He is accused of being the bandit who robbed 41 banks in Southern California, using a Fed Ex box to carry away his stolen cash.

San Diego police are expected to announce the arrest and the charges they plan to pursue at a news conference later in the day.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials are considering pursuing identify theft and international money laundering charges.

"We believe he was smuggling currency from these robberies into Tijuana," Mack said.

Mack said Farhbaksh is an Iranian national who has been using the identity of Ernest Lozano, a U.S. resident who died as a baby in Texas.

I commented in a thread earlier today that I fear that the border will never be secured until there is a terrorist attack and they find out that the terrorists came across the border from Mexico.

I have said pretty much the same thing. And if the terrorists do commit a major strike and it can be traced back to illegal entry from Mexico the politicians in Washington will be ran out of office. They should be arrested and convicted.
