FBI FREEH UNLOADS ON CLINTON: 'CLOSETS WERE FULL OF SKELETONS'

Louis Freeh Speaks for the First Time About his Terrible Relationship with the President

Former FBI Director Louis Freeh says publicly for the first time that his relationship with President Bill Clinton – the man who appointed him – was a terrible one because Clinton’s scandals made him a constant target of FBI investigations. Freeh discloses this and many other details of his dealings with the Clinton White House in a new bombshell book: 'My FBI : Bringing Down the Mafia, Investigating Bill Clinton, and Fighting the War on Terror' -- set for release next week.

Freeh has taped an interview with Mike Wallace and CBSNEWS '60 MINUTES' to be broadcast Sunday, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

MORE

In the book, “My FBI,” he writes, “The problem was with Bill Clinton -- the scandals and the rumored scandals, the incubating ones and the dying ones never ended. Whatever moral compass the president was consulting was leading him in the wrong direction. His closets were full of skeletons just waiting to burst out.”

The director sought to distance himself from Clinton because of Whitewater, refusing a White House pass that would have enabled him to enter the building without signing in. This irked Clinton. “I wanted all my visits to be official,” says Freeh. “When I sent the pass back with a note, I had no idea it would antagonize the president,” he tells Wallace.

Returning the pass was only the start of the rift. Later, relations got so bad that President Clinton reportedly began referring to Freeh as “that F…ing Freeh.” Says Freeh, “I don’t know how they referred to me and I really didn’t care,” he says. “My role and my obligation was to conduct criminal investigations. He, unfortunately for the country and unfortunately for him, happened to be the subject of that investigation,” Freeh says.

In another revelation, Freeh says the former president let down the American people and the families of victims of the Khobar Towers terror attack in Saudi Arabia. After promising to bring to justice those responsible for the bombing that killed 19 and injured hundreds, Freeh says Clinton refused to personally ask Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah to allow the FBI to question bombing suspects the kingdom had in custody – the only way the bureau could secure the interviews, according to Freeh. Freeh writes in the book, “Bill Clinton raised the subject only to tell the crown prince that he understood the Saudis’ reluctance to cooperate and then he hit Abdullah up for a contribution to the Clinton Presidential Library.” Says Freeh, “That’s a fact that I am reporting.”

The most unsavory of those investigations was the one concerning Clinton and Lewinsky. The White House intern had kept a semen-stained dress as proof of her relationship and a Clinton blood sample was needed to match the DNA on the dress. “Well, it was like a bad movie and it was ridiculous that…Ken Starr and myself, the director of the FBI, find ourselves in that ridiculous position,” he tells Wallace. “But we did it…very carefully, very confidentially,” recalls Freeh. As he explains the plan in the book, Clinton was at a scheduled dinner and excused himself to go to the bathroom. Instead of the restroom, he entered another room where FBI medical technicians were waiting to take a blood sample.

Freeh says he was determined to stay on as FBI director until President Clinton left office so that Clinton could not appoint his successor. “I was concerned about who he would put in there as FBI director because he had expressed antipathy for the FBI, for the director,” he tells Wallace. “[So] I was going to stay there and make sure he couldn’t replace me,” Freeh tells Wallace.

How is it that Lewinsky and Tripp escaped the clinton style retribution?

Shooting someone in the head who has your genitals in her mouth is something to be avoided.

Gary Aldrich and his publisher should be busy preparing a new paperback re-issue of his book with a new forward reviewing everything in light of Freeh's book. Aldrich was treated by the MSM SAPs and FRAUDcasters as some crackpot, but it will be a lot harder to maintain that pretence in light of Freeh's book. Of course, I know that the Clintonistas will go to great lengths to try to discredit Freeh, but it's harder to dismiss the 8-year Director of the FBI than any one former FBI agent.

From this article: "Freeh says he was determined to stay on as FBI director until President Clinton left office so that Clinton could not appoint his successor. “I was concerned about who he would put in there as FBI director because he had expressed antipathy for the FBI, for the director,” he tells Wallace. “[So] I was going to stay there and make sure he couldn’t replace me,” Freeh tells Wallace

From this thread http://www.freerepublic.com/forum/a39b9d1801b14.htm in 2000:

Judge Freeh stayed on for a couple of reasons. He loves this country. And he couldn't personally except the responsibility of allowing Clinton to appoint a new Director. The good Judge has seen most of it, and is sitting on a powder keg that if it falls into the wrong hands could guarantee Democrat (and Communist Chinese) control of the WH for about as long as they want it. This is a poker game with unbelievably high stakes and no one knows which way it's going to go until the last hand is dealt, the bluffing through, and the cards on the table.

In spite of what he knows he still retains his position, even though he publicly indicated he wanted to resign and spend more time with his family. Why did he decide to stay on? In the face of all the information he has collected, Clinton can not remove him without risking disaster. So Clinton had his own investigation done on the Judge. We have a stalemate, with Freeh retaining power and attempting to outwait Clinton's term of office and Clinton is afraid to pull the trigger on Freeh. Time and circumstances continue to change, and Freeh has a lot of information on the Republicans also. A LOT. He has worked himself into a position of power, and whoever gives the good Judge what he wants gets limited access to the information.

Very interesting.

Never happen. The story will be spiked.

First thing I thought as well. Unless that is, and I admit it's a very outside long shot, this is a Hillary plan to give her an excuse to distance herself from him ("Oh my! I had no idea!") prior to a White House run.

The Director and the Mole

Again, it was The Bureau and the Mole. I keep forgetting I can't trust my memory.

Freeh will make a lot of money on this book and I am sure it is part of his motivation but I am sure everything in the book is true. The truth will continue to be revealed about the Clintons and their legacy will continue to plunder.

It will be interesting to hear Bill Clinton defend what comes out in the book. In fact, you will probably see him overseas for a while.

If we can gather one scrap of solid evidence, then Slick and Hildebeast should indicted!

If what they say now is true,

"You can indict a ham sandwich..."

Then what does this make Slick and Shrillery if they haven't been indicted (on anything) yet?

(ham is not the first thing that crosses my mind...)

Trouble is, Clinton has been adopted by the Bush family.

Unless the "friendship" is solely to ensure that Clinton and his minions can't immediately scream that the Bushes are trying to bring down Clinton's legacy. Long shot, yes, but politics is a high stakes game played in a different world than most of us live and W does pull rabbits out of his hat sometimes when no one expects it.

PIAPS won't be happy with Louis Freeh's New Book

Many developments will be revealed before 2008 that will ruin Hillary's hopes for the Presidency.

No doubt the W-88 was sold.

I knew a lot of people suspected it in the years afterward, but it floored me to read that Freeh, with all the FBI working for him, gave full credence to the charges and basically itched to pursue them. The problem of course being that Clinton was still President, Reno was running Justice, etc.

Clinton has been adopted by the Bush family.

Not true at all.

President Bush appointed his father and BC to head the Tsunami recovery because they were former Presidents and could cover both 'political sides'.

President Bush cannot just prosecute someone, nor hope the court will convict based on "because the President says...."

With the MSM totally against you, you have to be VEWWWY VEWWWY CWEVER!

The corruption of the government at all levels was very immense.

The wall has to be taken down one brick at a time, starting with the easiest to get loose.

The bricks are being taken down, behind the scenes for the most part.

Much corruption has been eliminated, and you will never hear about it in the MSM.

President Bush is trying to put honest, moral, experienced people in every position possible, for the good of America.

That is what will help change our nation. The President cannot do it all by himself. Without removing the debris, the water will get dirty again, so be aware the debris is being removed.

Chris Matthews despises Matt Drudge. It should be no surprise that Matthews has yet to mention anything about the Freeh book on his "screaming" Hardball program. So far it's all Karl Rove. He teased earlier about the WH spy (no mention that he was hired in 99) and a Pentagon contractor who pleaded guilty today.

Not only does he look bad, but remember that weekend appearance where he came out swinging with attacks on Bush? My guess at the time was that it was less motivated by animosity toward Bush than by some sort of fear. (The best defense is a good offense.) Something was scaring him at the time and he was reacting by going on the attack. Maybe this is what it was. Sounds like indictable offenses to me. I knew it couldn't be just the threat of embarassment (since nothing seems to shame him). It had to be a threat with teeth in it, like the threat of jail time.

I thought this was a done deal as far as it being fairly conclusive. It's just that nobody wants to pursue it; not then and not now.

I suppose we can hope Freeh may not be finished.
