I know I was threatened with jail and heavy fine for having a orphaned squirrel, luckily, I gave them false name. How ironic that I could get a license on line to blow the squirrel's brains out, but I couldn't keep it till it got big enough to release.

You were threatened with jail time for helping an animal? That's insane...

The folks at my local PetSupermarket were nursing a baby squirrel the other day. One of the clerks, a teenage girl, was walking around with it clinging to her shoulder. I couldn't bring myself to pet it, though, they're such pest-ridden little things. The little baby was CUTE though, and seemed sweet enough.

I hear that even hand-raised squirrels turn mean though once they grow up.

The parasites that squirrels commonly carry (and that often carry disease themselves) will mostly leave the corpse soon after death, so I don't see the irony.
