More about the Toledo black riot
Posted by kickdrum on Saturday October 15, 2005 at 8:04 pm MST [ Send Story to Friend ]
No, I was not in Ohio between 3:00 and 6:30 p.m. this afternoon when blacks attacked a White, predominantly Polish neighborhood. However, I was watching Fox News as they reported the amazing episode live, complete with close-up video photography courtesy of a local news helicopter which hovered overhead.

I enjoyed a 90-minute Birdseye view of a mini New Orleans unfolding before my eyes -- unedited, blow-by-blow. Well, at least for the first 45 minutes.

From about 3:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Fox News anchor Page Hopkins (pictured) handled the commentary until she became a bit too Politically Incorrect. She was cut-off mid-sentence and removed from the anchor desk at 3:45 p.m. Her sudden replacement made no mention of where she went or what happened to her. An awkward transition to say the least.

Here's what happened.

A mere fourteen members of a National Socialist group had arranged a demonstration to take place in a park across from a small White enclave in the black sea that Toledo has become. According to Fox news, the protest was aimed at police and authorities for not doing enough to protect the community from non-White crime, specifically gang activity.

Counter-protesters described by Fox commentators as "socialist skinheads who oppose racism" became agitated and violent and had to be arrested a full half-hour before the demonstration was scheduled to begin. Police decided to cancel the protest and the National Socialists were escorted to their cars in a police van. This was all caught on video. Including aerial scenes of the "Nazis" being driven away.

Meanwhile, around 400 Black males between the ages of around 16 and 25 had gathered in three separate groups in various locations around the staging area. Many were obviously gang members, as they were wearing gang garb, flashing strange hand signals, and working in a semi-organized fashion (A fact later confirmed by Mayor Jack Ford who described the rioters as "gang members.") Again, this was all caught on video.

Although the demonstration had been cancelled, and the participants had either been arrested or escorted away, the blacks would not disperse. In fact, the blacks became more and more agitated.

What was now a mob began to hurl what Fox described as "baseball sized rocks" through the windows of neighborhood homes in a four square block area. The scene was almost unbelievable. Thousands of huge rocks pummeled the tidy homes of White, low-income people who apparently had the good sense to leave the gang-ridden neighborhood before the "festivities" began. I didn't see a single White face, thank goodness.

While the action escalated, Page Hopkins became more and more disgusted, saying, "This is no longer about racism, this is just illegality... criminal behavior." Just then, a helicopter camera focused in on a group of about 50 blacks who where exiting homes with looted goods, waving the items above their heads with glee. Another group of blacks were taped kicking in the front door of a tavern. It took several teams of blacks numerous attempts to penetrate the well-fortified door which finally collapsed in. Blacks then swarmed into the building and re-appeared in second floor windows waving their arms triumphantly and signaling for others to partake. Soon blacks began exiting the tavern with armfuls of liquor and other stolen goods. The blacks then set fire to the large tavern building which sat sandwiched between small, ranch-style homes. Flames soon appeared on the roof.

At this point Page Hopkins began to describe the situation as a "riot," and for the first time asked the question that until then had not been broached: "Where are the police?" There was not a single police officer in site. They had abandoned the neighborhood to the black mob.

It was during this discussion that Page Hopkins was abruptly ejected from the newsroom and replaced with a calm, cool, egalitarian propagandist who is not a regular Fox anchor. He reminded the television audience that "protesters" where driven to their behavior by the presence of the "Nazis" who were the "root cause" of the "situation." I apologize for not catching his name.

Just then, police arrived in force and began chasing blacks through the streets among burning buildings and cars. Again, this was all on video. Clouds of tear gas and pepper spray were everywhere as rocks continued to fly. It looked like the final battle scene from the movie Kingdom of Heaven. Blacks were seen kicking away cans of teargas that had landed near their feet.

Meanwhile, a White camera crew scrambled to safety behind police lines. And a woman who works for a local media outlet told Page Hopkin's replacement that her news van had been attacked by blacks who attempted to pull the driver through the smashed windshield. She said they "barely escaped."

It was then that Fox suddenly decided to end the live feed and move to another story. Just as things were heating up.

An hour later Fox mentioned the story again, reporting that "protesters" had still not "dispersed" and that police were still "making arrests." Fox also described local residents as "hostages in their own homes," but offered no details.

At 4:00 p.m. Mayor Jack Ford declared a state of emergency, set an 8 p.m. curfew through the weekend, and asked the Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies for help. "It's exactly what they wanted," Ford said of the group that planned the march, blaming the Whites. (One thing is certain, Negro gangs are running wild in the neighborhood, just as the White "haters" proclaimed in pre-protest interviews.)

So what happened after Fox decided to end the live feed? For all we know, Whites were pulled from their cars and homes and beaten or killed. Stay tuned.

(Note: At 8:30 p.m. I visited the Fox Web site and viewed the portion of the video they chose to make available to peole who missed it live. The segment has been edited with great care.)

I was drifting in and out of sleep as this was going down on Fox.

At some point in my pre-nap state, I heard Page Hopkins' commentary. The woman was watching anarchy unfold before her very eyes. Her awe and outright honesty caused me to turn and see what the heck was going on.

Before my eyes I saw, well I simply could not believe it. People were going in people's homes and bringing out goods. Other gang members, rioters, whoever they were, were tearing apart a fence and using the boards to ram a building.

Gangs of black males finally opened what I suppose was a store. They then began to throw stuff out of the store out into the crowd. At one point I could swear they were throwing COINS out to the crowd.

Page Hopkins lost it a bit when, again before our disbelieving eyes, we saw a gang of thugs run into a building and then saw the building erupt in flames.

With all this and mine own lying sleepy eyes not believing this mess, the camera pans out to where the cops were.

Which was NOT, ladies and gems, anywhere NEAR where all this criminal activity.

Somebody at Fox was trying this lame political justification like "they're probably just letting them get out their anger, vent their frustrations", as reason why the cops weren't moving. I dunno but it was surreal watching on one hand the utter chaos and lawlessness of that gang of thugs then to pan away and watch a couple of scores of cops, all of them just walking about mindlessly.

Page probably got taken off the air because she was like the rest of us out here in la-la land. WE GOT EYEBALLS!

We KNOW what the hell we were seeing. We were seeing criminals, crime...unfettered, unashamed, unquenched.

I don't know what the story is with the cops. About ten minutes later they did start moving towards the chaos.

And Fox did go on to another story to my complete amazement. THIS was the story of the day and they had a camera capturing it all.

It's all still new yet. The truth will come out. Some Blogger somewhere will get to the bottom of it.

But it was the damn strangest thing my lying eyeballs have seen since...well since New Orleans.

Thank you for the info. I may have started the thread when I heard it breaking on FOX, but I had to leave for awhile. Not only did you bring me up to speed on the event as it actually occurred, but the tidbit about Paige Hopkins was quite interesting.
