CAIRO, Egypt - Iraqi police on Wednesday arrested Saddam Hussein's nephew in Baghdad, charging that he served as the top financier of Iraq's rampant insurgency, senior Iraqi security officials said. Yasir Sabhawi Ibrahim, son of Saddam's half brother Sabhawi Ibrahim Hasan al-Tikriti, was arrested in a Baghdad apartment, several days after Syrian authorities forced him to return to Iraq, the officials told The Associated Press in a telephone interview from Cairo. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to deal with the media.

...several days after Syrian authorities forced him to return to Iraq...

Most revealing part of the whole story. Think Condi has Syria a little nervous?

Most revealing part of the whole story.

That struck me too.

Of course it's all George Bush's fault.

This should have been dealt with in December 2003, the way all such matters are dealt with in that part of the world.

First Saddam's nephew. Next we get to cross the border and get access to the WMDs that Hussein sent to Syria while we were dithering at the UN, getting yet another resolution before the war.

I wonder is he really was the #1 financier.

If the Syrians are nervous enough, they may tell us where the WMD's are.

Don't think so as his head's had a price on it for too short a time.

Read more about him here.

Exactly! And none of it will be given the full attention it deserves by the MSM.

Loved the comment about Condi rattling the Syrians. Condi Rocks! Can you see Albright even attempting to do that? Or Powell? ROFLMAO!

The Syrians were aware of his whereabouts in Baghdad and informed U.S. authorities, who then passed the information to Iraq security forces who carried out a "fast, easy" raid on the fugitive's apartment, the Defense Ministry official said.

And:

On July 21, the U.S. Treasury Department froze the U.S. assets of the suspect as well as the five other sons of al-Tikriti, who was himself captured in Syria earlier this year and handed over to Iraq in an apparent good will gesture.

This could be a major break if he really is a key financier of the terror effort in Iraq.

I checked and the father of this guy, who was just arrested, is the 6 of Diamonds. But the son doesn't have a card.

SABAWI IBRAHIM HASAN AL-TIKRITI, Presidential Advisor
(Saddam's half brother)= 6 of Diamonds

I can't find the web site which shows which terrorists have been killed or arrested.

Just out of curiosity, I'm wondering if the 6 of Diamonds is still out there????

I doubt Zarqawi but perhaps Ibrahim al-Douri - Who we need about as much as Zarqawi -

I see Zarqawi's MO ditto that of UBL / Zawahiri - That being sans any direct assistance from established Gov't types - But al-Douri almost certainly has looked for assistance.
