THE MARKUP
Battle Royale: "Partisan" vs. "Propagandist"
Rep. Maurice Hinchey (D-NY) got more than he bargained for on tonight's "Hannity and Colmes." Hinchey came on to promote himself on the platform that he wants to impeach President Bush for allegedly lying to Congress about WMDs. He blathered about this for awhile, and then Hannity broke in:
HANNITY: I'm listening to what you're saying. So you're saying when the President told the nation that Saddam's nuclear threats are a real grave danger to America and Saddam's WMDs are a threat to America, you're saying that George W. Bush purposely lied to America? Is that what you're saying?
HINCHEY: I'm saying whoever wrote that speech gave false information to the Congress. Whether or not the President knew it when he gave the speech, I'm not sure. Whoever wrote that speech certainly did.
HANNITY: The only problem is Congressman, the words I just said to you were John Kerry's words. John Kerry said that to America. You voted for John Kerry. Now I'll ask you, did John Kerry give false information to America?
HINCHEY: John Kerry, I think, made a mistake and voted for the resolution
HANNITY: Oh, he made a mistake and Bush is a liar.
The name-calling that followed ("partisan!" "propagandist!" etc) was pure entertainment. Of course, the high-minded Jon Stewart would not have approved, but so what? This hypocrite deserved to get called out.
HYPOCRISY DISCLAIMER: Just so that I don't get a ton of e-mails about it, Kay Bailey Hutchison deserved to get called out for her hypocrisy, too. But I linked to this episode because it was funnier.
Video here.
Sean Hannity is a tool.
Finally, someone calls Kay Bailey Hutchison for what she is - a hypocritical rich RINO, the type who will blithely support McCain-Feingold (which she voted for, before she voted against it) and still call herself a "Conservative" in the expectation that her Texas constituents will never know any better.
"It's a criminal crime."
BWAAHAHAHAAA!!!
pinging
Sean Hannity is a cool tool in the motor pool!
The gal is in touch with her inner self or some such drivel.
They just can't help themselves tho. Just have to attack the President.
Ah, but they'd have to listen to his program to know that!
When Hannity pulls one of these "gotcha" routines I just want to kiss him!
