They can bloody their nose, but they cannot defeat Iran in a (conventional) war. A bloody nose would lead to that war.

During the Yom Kippur war, the Israelis kicked the combined asses of the those in the Middle East. Since that time they have gotten stronger and obtained more sophisticated weaponry.
