A spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee, Tracey Schmitt, described Daschle's comments as ``a transparent search for relevance.''

Ohhh!, that's gonna leave a mark!

Now, if only anyone would call Daschle, he might have something!

In related news, S.D. constituents called for Daschle's removal by 2005.

I wish the Iraq's could get to critical mass on their own independence.

Of course it is difficult for them as whole, they have no concept of governing themselves. But they must see that the terrorists insurgents hurt them more than they hurt the US.

Daschle has raised his public profile in recent weeks and has not ruled out a presidential run in 2008.

Don't laugh... it's happened before...

I agree. Since he lost his last election in South Dakota where people have known him for years, I would think his chance to win the presidency would be about as good as ALGORE or John F'n Kerry.
Good luck Tom It ain't gonna happen !!

Indeed. And oh the irony after the Thune-Johnson election before that one. LOL Daschole is simply searching for relevance. Sheeet! If I were him I'd take my multi-million dollar pension that I hadn't contributed a dime too, get out of politics, and go do something worthwhile in life.

Then again, that's why I'm not a democrat, eh.

I think it is pretty obvious we will draw down troops in 06. Now he will probably say it is his idea.

Line him up right next to Carter, who is promoting his new book. WSJ trashed it. On Hardball tonight Carter saying we torture and warmongering vs diplomacy is the main difference between Pubs and Dems.

Meanwhile, while he yammers on, Condi and Jack Straw are kicking Syrian and Iranian butt. That's the important story this week. the rest is just PR.
