LANCASTER, Pa. - An 18-year-old who's charged with killing his girlfriend's parents before fleeing with the 14-year-old girl is frightened and confused, his attorney said Wednesday.
David Ludwig is being held without bail on murder and kidnapping charges after being flown back to Lancaster County on Tuesday from Indiana, where police captured him following a chase.
His attorney, public defender Merrill M. Spahn, said he will ask for a postponement of a scheduled Nov. 23 preliminary hearing.
"Over the coming days we will strive to determine what, in fact, occurred last Sunday morning and what may have led to these tragic events," he said.

Ever since my little girl's been old enough to talk, she could answer the question, "What will Daddy be doing when the boys come over to see you?" The answer is, of course, "Cleaning his guns". Too bad this kid didn't have that kind of healthy, respectful intimidation implanted in his brain.
Make sure you have fresh, clean ammo, too.
Scared. Where was that fright before the event?
Where was the respect due the inevitable consequences? Where was the respect due to other human beings?
With that said, where were the parents letting a 14 year old girl date an 18 year old man? 14 year old children are hormone-riddled walking time bombs. Even with the best parents in the world, there are some tough times trying to become an adult.
No death penalty here. Beside being contrary to Christian beliefs (it's not self defence when he's already in custody), it's a dumb way out. I'd just weld the cage shut. Food goes in and wastes come out through the bars.
And no free education, satellite TV or conjugal visits. Let him do as the monks do - contemplation. Take all the diversions away so that he can meditate. Or go mad. His choice - one of the very few that should be left to him.
No argument here! I can't help but think that we have some other wonderful 18 year olds doing good things, they're serving in our Armed Forces, they VOLUNTEERED to do that for us, for our nation. I have no sympathy for 18 year old murderers, as you say, if he doesn't get the death penalty, weld the prison door shut--NEXT!

Am sure you knew it all David. Am sure you thought you were "cool." Am sure you wren't going to let anyone tell YOU what you could and could not do.
Now? I am SURE your life is OVER whether it be the death penalty or forever behind bars. We know it won't be the death penalty because you are just a MINOR. So, I assume it will be forever behind bars.
Look at it this way David...your parents will still be able to come visit and speak with you. The parents of the young woman you MURDERED are 6 feet under. No visits like you will receive. No speaking as we know it.
Sorry son, can't feel your pain. You did a horrendous act and now it is time for you to pay for it. As for the young woman I hope she will begin to get her life back. Dating someone 4 years older than you is not wise when you are only 14. The results of this union are horrific.
Everyone involved will pay for it mentally for the rest of their lives. David? You will pay for it mentally as well as paying for it with your own life as you sit behind bars when you could have been out and about with friends, going to college, having fun, dating girls your own age, and eventually marrying and having a family of your own. Perhaps with a 14 year old daughter of your own you would have understood the concerns of the parents of the young woman you dated.
Maybe you can salvage something in your life. I hope so. However, it will be behind bars instead of out and about in the fresh air and sunshine, green trees, lakes, rivers, snow, rain, mountains, oceans and anything else one could mention that is out there in the big beautiful world.
How tragic a story. I hope the family members will find peace and comfort one day. They are gonna need it but not as much as David will.

To be clear, just by bringing up the armed forces in a discussion of this little bastards deeds is stupid. What is the purpose of this comment? Do we have to have everyting explained in minute detail?

Self defense has nothing to do with the Christan position on the death penalty.Got prescribed the death penalty from the time Noah came off the arc.It may be your belief but it is not a product of Christanity.
