Place the National Guard on the border until the fence/wall is completed and secured.

Most people don't know this big secret about Mexico: All of it's Northern states are being run by the drug cartels and are using former and active Mexican military for shipment protection and enforcement. The cartels have sophisticated networks on our side of the line, state-of-the-art technologies to thwart ours and a legion of "pro-immigrant" lackeys here to shout down our every attempt to deal with the problem realistically. The conditions of war are evident yet no one (except Mr. Tancredo and a few other representatives not on the take) are willing to acknowledge it. Citizens along the border are living in a state of siege without government assistance - their properties trashed, their livestock picked off and their very safety threatened whenever they try to stand up for themselves in defense of this ongoing atrocity.
I say it's not a violation of Posse Commitatus when the National Guard and Reserves are utilized for the purpose of Nation Guarding. Let the citizens living there decide.
