WASHINGTON -- Bruce Springsteen famously was "born in the USA," but he's getting scorned in the U.S. Senate.
An effort by New Jersey's two Democratic senators to honor the veteran rocker was shot down Friday by Republicans who are apparently still miffed a year after the Boss lent his voice to the campaign of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry.
The chamber's GOP leaders refused to bring up for consideration a resolution, introduced by Sens. Frank Lautenberg and Jon Corzine, that honored Springsteen's long career and the 1975 release of his iconic album, "Born to Run."

Poor Brucey boy.
Born to Cut and Run.
Let's get a resolution to honor Ted Nugent. That'll really fry the 'Rats!
The Nuge is my computer wallpaper. :-)
Springsteen needs to get a real bad case constipation to recapture his great vocal stylings of 30 years ago.
Born in the USA is an anti-American screed that says the reason we were in Vietnam was for white folks to kill yellow folks. He varies that with "red man" and "brown man," depending on the venue:
Born down in a dead man's town
The first kick I took was when I hit the ground
You end up like a dog that's been beat too much
'Til you spend half your life just covering up
[chorus:]
Born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
I got in a little hometown jam
And so they put a rifle in my hands
Sent me off to Vietnam
To go and kill the yellow man
[chorus]
Come back home to the refinery
Hiring man says "Son if it was up to me"
I go down to see the V.A. man
He said "Son don't you understand"
[chorus]
I had a buddy at Khe Sahn
Fighting off the Viet Cong
They're still there, he's all gone
He had a little girl in Saigon
I got a picture of him in her arms
Down in the shadow of the penitentiary
Out by the gas fires of the refinery
I'm ten years down the road
Nowhere to run, ain't got nowhere to go
I'm a long gone Daddy in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
I'm a cool rocking Daddy in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
apparently he didn't touch millions of voters
"Born to Run" is one of my favorite albums, but even if Bruce was a dyed in the wool pubbie, I think Congress has better things to do than honor rock albums.
Not many pay a lot of attention to the lyrics, maybe your post will open some eyes.
Ooooh, what does it look like?!
Springsteen sucks. Always has. Always will.
As for the GOP stance - good for them. Payback baby.
The Motor City Madman is so awesome. I saw an interview with him on Donny Deusch (or whatever) recently. When asked if he thought animals had rights, his reply was a soft "garlic and butter." HAHAHAH!!!
I still would have liked to see Springsteen play "Glory Days" for the inauguration; all together now:
John Kerry claimed to be a big war hero back when I was in school.
Then he got caught in a lie 'bout his service; And now he looks like a fool.
He used to boast "Bring it on!" but now he just cries ... "Cut it out!"
But whenever he gets up in front of a crowd, he can't resist lyin' aboutttttt ........ his
Glory Days!! Now he just plays the part
Glory Days!! of a vet with a Purple Heart
Glory Days!! Glory Dayyyyyyys!!!
It is from 2003, a caricature. If you go to Google, and enter Ted Nugent under IMAGES you will see it in the second row.
Bruce is a total intellectual moron......his worst was that "51 shots" piece of pro-criminal // anti-cop junk.
