"Finally, at about 70 yards, he pulled the trigger on his Remington 1100 rifle - with the hook at the end of his prosthetic left arm."

I've never understood deer hunting with a shotgun. If they are tame enough to let you get that close you might as well use a spear or a club.

I'm not sure about Wisconsin, but in southern Minnesota it's only leagal to use shotguns and handguns for deer. I think they're afraid of the rifle, with it's longer range, hitting objects (and people) downrange of the intended target.

A shotgun is the best brush gun Heck you can't see more that 10 yards in heavy cover anyway. Those slugs work great.

Rifled barrels with sabot ammo, make these shotguns (rifles) very accurate out to 100 yards or more.

I've never understood deer hunting with a shotgun.

Here in the southern half of Michigan the only long arms you can use for deer are shotguns and black powder due to the restricted hunting areas and the close proximity of houses and such.

Hunting doesn't even put a dent in the deer population down here anymore. Your best bet is to fortify the front of your vehicle with steel bars and cruise M-59, I-75 or any of the sub arteries around Troy, Rochester, Pontiac or wherever........
