Quietly, without a shot being fired, a revolution is about to occur in American politics. There is a very strong chance that, one year from now, a woman will be third in line for the presidency of the United States.
If the current trend continues, Nancy Pelosi will be Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives following the November 2006 congressional elections.
This development is remarkable on two counts.
First, the United States has lagged behind other Western-style democracies in elevating women to positions of national leadership. Golda Meir, Margaret Thatcher and Indira Gandhi were elected prime ministers of Israel, Great Britain and India years ago. A woman is now the chancellor of Germany.
And while women hold the governorships in a number of states such as Michigan, Connecticut, Louisiana, Kansas, Washington and Arizona, no woman has ever held a position of national leadership in our country.
Nancy Pelosi has risen through the ranks the old-fashioned way.

Pelosi may also find herself third in line at the soup kitchen if next year's elections don't work out so hot.

Martin Frost needs to take the needle out of his arm!
The Democrats have no agenda, they have no message, no plan, and no backbone to see the War on Terror to victory.
Nancy Pelosi is a political hack who is nothing but a mouthpiece for George Soros and the other extreme left-wing kooks

Changing demographics will ensure that the democrats retake (and hold onto) the House within the next decade or so. They are so incompetent however, it may take a full decade.
Just another "benefit" of massive immigration into this country.

Lets also look at a recent Democracy Corps poll that showed 58 percent of the public wanting a significantly different direction for the country I am a conservative and I also want a "significantly different direction for the country", so I am part of that 58%, but that does not mean I will ever vote for a RAT. It means I will vote for the lesser of two evils (sad but the way it is) then beat up on the Republican to stop acting like a Marxist, just as Bush is doing. Much better to beat up on a Republican for acting Marxist than have a RAT as a president or House Speaker.

This could be a windfall for the lp; I expect the DNC and Soros will start funneling money into third party candidates in the close races.
