"Politically weaker" will be the DNC password until the next election.

The problem seems to be that the Dems have also been weakened by their MEDIA games...Rathergate, Plamegate.

Unfortunately, the "Bow Tie" is right on the money.

Unfortunately also, I cannot support the President on any call for "immigration reform" when what he is really calling for is amnesty for all illegals. President Bush is completely MIA when it comes to enforcing our borders.

Bush said nothing will work unless we have amnesty. This means he refuses to uphold the Constitution, and protect us from invasion. Bush should step down. Maybe Cheney has a brain.

I thought the same thing: too little too late. Bush is lukewarm again. And it has everything to do with politics and money. Bush blew an opportunity (again) to regain the support of his base.

If US companies could only outsource more jobs, they wouldn't come.

For once, Carlson has it right: Lot's of talk from the Pres., no serious action on securing the borders and enforcing our existing laws will be demanded by the WH.

Brilliant idea! If there's no jobs and money for anyone, who would want to come to the U.S.?

Or live here?

Agreed-- it's sad. I say we keep screaming at W and the RINOs until they start making some sense! We got Miers traded in for Alito-- Lord willin' we can turn this one too. The Minutemen have really framed the debate here and shamed the country-club 'Pubs into shifting their tone. Now to keep up the pressure!

Yes, I am using blackmail. Not one red cent for the Republican coffers until they honestly move to protect our borders. I have called the White House and the Congressional Republican leaders, and they know what I'll come out to vote for and fund. And what I WON'T.

Until we actuall start enforcing the law, I see this all as empty talk. Bush is lukewarm, but I am not down on him as most people are here. This is the first time he has attempted to address the issue. Consider this like the "Harriet Miers" of proposals.

You are a liar...Bush has clearly stated that he opposes amnesty many times.
