December 1, 2005 -- An NYPD narcotics detective has been arrested for sexually assaulting a young boy over a period of about three years, authorities said last night. Organized Crime Control Bureau Detective Clifton Lawrence, 43, who works narcotics in Upper Manhattan, faces charges including sodomy and sex abuse.
Police would not release any details on the alleged victim or say when or where the attacks took place.
But Lawrence was arraigned in Bronx Criminal Court — and a law enforcement source said the victim was his girlfriend's son, who was allegedly abused between the time he was 8 and 11.
The charges cite three incidents between August, 2002 and November, 2005.
