"Times are bad at the L.A. Times. Competition from new media and “a lingering feeling of bias” continue to plague the paper and drive down circulation."

It must be pretty bad if it's even happening in a liberal bastion like LA. Or, wait a minute, maybe the paper isn't liberal enough...

Now, the once venerable paper faces a scandal of Jayson Blair proportions, one that may topple key players—including a Pulitzer Prize winner—and permanently sully its reputation.

Ummmmm....how does one sully the reputation of Left Wing Liberal, incompetent rag?

...should I get out my small violin and play a funeral dirge or just laugh "BWAHAHAHAHA" about the LA Slime's slow demise?

Move along, nothing to see here....WHY you might ask?! Because the evil liberals KNOW how to cover their tracks! Watch all of them come out with book and movie deals.
SICKENING ISN'T IT!

Interesting read. It's all new to me...but two points come to mind..

Poole, the cop who resigned after 18 years on the job..did he toss away his pension? That's hard to believe...

Also, Bratton, the curent LAPD commish..has a rep as a straight shooter..since he came in way after all this happened., he has no reason to cover anything up..indeed..it's to his advantage to turn over all the rocks..

Ditto, but very interesting. I guess I'll just wait for the movie.

Am I involved in the same trial that they are covering?

Those of us who followed the Rodney King and Simpson cases often asked the same question. The Times has been in "agenda de jur" mode for many, many years.

Yep.
But we will always to need have at least a couple of them.
For a negative role-model in civic governance.
