Your Marine nephew is an honor to your family. I know your family is concerned for his well-being. All military personnel complain. It is the nature of the beast.

You posted...
"The troops should come home, the Special Operations Forces should be increased tenfold, the air attacks against nations that harbor terrorists should start, TOTAL financial warfare should commence against any nation that aids the enemy (if France , e.g., sends charity of any kind to Iran, then we should engage in total financial warfare against France), we should commence total political warfare against Iran and Syria and any nation that aids them in any way. We should make it clear to Russia that Iran is waging warfare against us. They need to stop all aid to Iran, or we end diplomatic relations with them and cut off all aid and charity to them.

Definition of war:

A concerted effort or campaign to combat or put an end to something considered injurious: e.g., the war against terrorist nations."

Do you really believe the troops should come home?

I am having a difficult time thinking the (so-called) war should be fought from any perspective other than your definition of war. Congress has not declared war, so technically we are not at war. I do wish Congress would get off their back sides and declare war for then many things could be done to help bring about the end of this so-called war that can't be done now.

"But local tribesmen describe him as a low-level activist."

He was just an envelope stuffer, and he answered the phones during the annual jihadi-thon fund raiser . . .

Seriously, thanks for the update post.

Numbers #2 and #1 are probably members of the US congress in the Democratic party.

Well he kind of called you out and you came back empty. Bush is waging the exact kind of war he can wage at the present time. If the US loses the political will to maintain Iraq's government, then one presumes the ethnic majorities in perhaps 3 regions are now ready to defend their autonomy. The US would surely provide support for the smaller US friendly states that would arise. Or the state as it's presently comprised survives somehow. Which is also infinitely better than what was there before. Hope your nephew comes home safe. Yeah, it's a job for him but for the rest of us he's defending freedom.

The BBC's Barbara Plett in Islamabad says it is not clear how important Hamza Rabia was in al-Qaeda.

Want to bet one of the US tv networks has an unnamed source claiming Rabia wasn't that important...before the sun sets on the East Coast today.

Your Ismail Khan article seems to push the UAV angle, when on FNC this morning they read it as purely a "bomb making accident". She even said "well, you shouldn't do that , then."

this is why I'm so disillusioned with congress and wonder if some in congress are actually on bin laden's payroll...

well there's durbin, kerry, kennedy, and so many others who if aren't on bin laden's payroll have no reason(s) for their comments.

I wonder how noisy the UAVs are, how high they fly, can they be spotted etc. Or is it really like a spooky ghost that comes outta nowhere. And I'm glad the PC crowd hasn't renamed the Hellfire missile.

How CNN would tell the story)
North Waziristan Pakistan
Today in an unprovoked attack US forces attacked and Destroyed an indigenous housing compound. US authorities SAY it was housing militant insurgent reformers, but this STORY cannot be confirmed by independant sources. Local authorities say with the destrution of this compound several families will be left homeless.

Coming up in national news: Karl Rove wants to steal your grandmothers dogfood and give it to the head of Haliburton.

noisy UAVs

Helicopters fly low so their pilots can see their targets, but the Predator can zoom in from far away, staying at 20,000 feet.

This not only reduces their audable signature on the ground to zero, but also keeps them out of range of RPKs.

It's HellFire missle is also faster than the speed of sound, so they never hear that coming either.
