Police: suicide bomber hits Israeli mall

JERUSALEM (AP) -- A suicide bomber blew himself up at the entrance to a shopping mall in the northern Israeli town of Netanya, wounding 35 people, police said.

Ami Klein, a lawyer who witnessed the explosion from a nearby courthouse, told Israel Radio that the attacker reached the entrance to the mall but wasn't able to enter. "The boom shook the entire courthouse," he said.

Police said seven people were injured critically.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility. But the attack followed growing tensions along Israel's border with the Gaza Strip. Palestinian militants on Sunday fired two rockets from Gaza into Israel at nightfall Sunday, following the first Israeli airstrikes in Gaza in more than a month.

Ughhh, not again. Prayers offered for the victims. I honestly don't know how the Israeli's put up with this-almost constant attacks- without nuking the Pali's out of existence. They have the patience of Job.

Sure am glad Gaza is all peaceful now... Thanks Bush and Sharon, great idea. Paying the bully your lunch money always solves the problem.

Of course, all of the children indiscriminately killed with all the other Israelis (who aren't all Jews, by the way) are legitimate military targets.

I've never understood how the Palestinians retain so much world support. The vast majority of countries in the world have acquired their land through military victories (or lost land through military defeats) in one way or another. However, we don't see Mexicans blowing themselves up in Texas and California demanding it be returned to them, nor do we see American Indians waging war against us "occupiers." Fortunately the British have also gotten over the whole Revolutionary thing. How long is it going to take Palestinians to grow up?

Suicide Bombing at Israeli Mall Kills Four

JERUSALEM (AP) -- A suicide bomber blew himself up in a line of people waiting to enter a shopping mall in the northern Israeli town of Netanya, killing at least four people and wounding 35, police said.

Ami Klein, a lawyer who witnessed the explosion from a nearby courthouse, told Israel Radio that the attacker reached the entrance to the mall but wasn't able to enter. "The boom shook the entire courthouse," Klein said.

Police said the bomber blew himself up in a line of people going through a customary security check at the mall's entrance.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility. But the attack came amid growing tensions along Israel's border with the Gaza Strip. Palestinian militants on Sunday fired two rockets from Gaza into Israel at nightfall Sunday, following the first Israeli airstrikes in Gaza in more than a month.

Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat condemned the attack. "I believe that this harms Palestinian interests and is another act to sabotage efforts to revive the peace process and to sabotage the Palestinian elections," he said, referring to a parliamentary vote set for January.

During five years of fighting, Netanya, a coastal city about 20 miles north of Tel Aviv, has been a frequent target of suicide bombings due to its close proximity to the West Bank.

But following Israel's construction of its West Bank separation barrier in the area, along with a cease-fire declaration in February, there has been a sharp drop in such attacks.

Monday's attack was the fifth since the cease-fire declaration, and the first suicide bombing in Israel since Oct. 26, when a 20-year-old Palestinian blew himself up at a falafel stand in the town of Hadera, killing five Israelis.

On July 12, a suicide bomber blew himself up among a group of teens near a shopping mall in Netanya, killing himself and two women.

The bomber was probably from Samaria and Judea, known as the "west bank" lately.

At least four dead, 40 injured – 7 critically - in Palestinian suicide bombing attack Monday at entrance to Netanya’s Sharon shopping mall

December 5, 2005, 11:39 AM (GMT+02:00)

Al Arabiya TV broadcasts claim of responsibility by Fatah-al Aqsa Brigades.

The bomber was prevented from entering the mall by suspicious bystanders. When police told him to take his hand out of his pocket, the terrorist blew himself up in the crowd at the mall’s entrance, which has become known as the Cursed Gate.

Netanya, which lies on the Mediterranean between Tel Aviv and Haifa, has been attacked several times by Palestinian bombers in the last five years. A suicide bomber killed five Israelis near the same spot outside the mall in summer.

So much for the giving of new territory to the Palestinians. They just use it as a new sanctuary to coordinate attacks. This is proving that appeasement does not work with these barbarians.

Serious consequences should be dealt to the Palestinians.
